Hey parents, look at what your annual $63,916 tuition check is paying for!
An editorial from Wellesley Colleges student newspaper put out a call to arms on Wednesday against anyone who engages in alleged racist behavior.
Ironically enough, the piece starts out responding to what the author sees as unfair allegations that Wellesley students and professors foster an environment where free speech is not allowed or is a violated right. Many outside sources have painted us as a bunch of hot house flowers who cannot exist in the real world.

Wellesley pumping out fascist snowflakes although considering Hillary went there that is nothing new. I fear when these Showflakes start to get into positions of power.

Kind of ironic to see the word “hot” associated in any way with the Wellesley Girls.

We are in a debt-inspired bubble of “higher education” that is no different from the housing bubble and HUD/Fannie bubble of the early 2000’s.
End the low interest debt crack to students and end Federal aid and this all ends immediately.

Shutting down rhetoric that undermines the existence and rights of others is not a violation of free speech; it is hate speech.
Grammatically speaking, the “it” in the “it is hate speech” quite clearly points to the “Shutting down rhetoric...”
So they are unintentionally (because they don’t know grammar for their $65k/year) correct:
The shutting down of free speech IS a form of hate speech.

With “hothouse flowers”, we have such variety (I know, I know, there ain’t no 2 snowflakes the same; but do we have multiple names for them, a la the eskimos?). One week, we can call them “pansies”, the next, “tulips”, after that, “little snapdragons”, then maybe, “mourning glories”. How about “lilies”? Or “rosebuds”? Or “baby breaths”, or “gardenias”, or ....

You are correct. But picture the author at work. Righteous indignation off the charts. Blood pressure up. Steam coming out of the ears. Beating the hell out of the keyboard. What’s grammar when you’re on the front lines of the war for social justice? Grammar is from the world of dead white men.

I dated a hot Wellesley grad. Briefly. I was the rebound guy, and she went back to the old BF.
To: Southside_Chicago_Republican
You’ve got a point there. The author was probably so angry she peed her pants.

Good stuff here:
The illiteracy of the author shines through when he/she/xi/fee/fi/fo/fum writes, Shutting down rhetoric that undermines the existence and rights of others is not a violation of free speech; it is hate speech.

The school should provide the newspaper staff, and others in need, with a supply of Depends or pads. Free of charge, of course.
