In 1994 the Democrats got creamed at the polls and the GOP took both the House and Senate. In 2009 the Democrats did pass health care. In 2010 they got creamed at the polls and the GOP took the House and the Senate. Do you really think that Trumpcare will turnout differently?

It's certainly possible. The American people certainly want action at this point, even if it's just an effort to repair what has been screwed up.

And given that the GOP has unified government, the voters could certainly punish the GOP for failing to act.

The solution? Grow some balls and do something real about the horrific situation that has evolved. Certainly sitting with their thumbs up their asses won't serve the GOP well in 2018.

So, yes. The GOP is going to need to take bona fide action on health care, come hell or high water...

The problem is that there is nothing that the Republicans can do, there was nothing the government could do to begin with, concerning health care coverage that will not make things worse. The proper course of action is to repeal it, explain to the American people that government has failed, and then work with the private market to come up with a private sector solution, or at least improvements. But that is the last thing the President or Congress will do.
