PING...
The concept works for me. But, I’m not sure it’s true federalism if your asking for federal funds.
No reason we should send a dollar to Washington to ANY federal agency, only to get back 10 cents in funds to do what the interminably employed bureaucrats dictate.
Get rid of the department but keep the money flowing. Good luck with that one.
All good and well but UT and SLC in specific have more pressing issues with illegals, sanctuary and welfare for the lazy they could tackle first.
Clean local and work outwards.
Awesome and surprising...recently Utah, has seemed to shift lefty.
Hip hip hurray. Also get rid of Common Core and quit feeding the kids propaganda.
ABOUT TIME. The so-called Department of Education is nothing but a State-controlled propaganda machine over the minds of all our children. As Socrates knew over 2000 years ago, you give the State power over “education”, they will never educate, just indoctrinate to make slaves for the State. (The snowflakes are exactly that—ignorant, emotionally-controlled slaves/jackboots for the State).
We need local control—not even “State” control. We need to abolish all the centralization of “education”. It is up to parents and their local communities. And our Classical Christian curricula should be replaced—and eject the Marxist, Neo-Freudian literature and lying textbooks that the Marxists wrote starting in 1930s with Dr. Ruggs and Dr. Count to brainwash and warp our children and make them into America-hating, ignorant jackboots and addicts who can’t even understand Natural Law Theory—basis of the American Constitution and individual Natural Rights from God.
Next. Get the Federal Government out of our health “care”. They have no business putting bureaucrats in charge of doctors or patients. It is socialism which makes people into slaves of the state.....which is also totally unconstitutional.
Music to my ears!
PING
If you want to go back to Federalism, Repeal the 17th Amendment.
Ain’t gonna happen.
Lol! If Utah is run by Mormons why have the last SaltLakeCity mayors been leftwing kooks? The current one is a lesbian who hands out big bucks to Cisco for plush exec offices. Lololol!
Thanks so much for the ping.
Great post. Keep it coming!
I’ve been working a lot lately, and have missed so much here.
My Good News, Trump is our President EVERYDAY! :)
It is interesting to note that the State that would vote so overwhelming for abolishing the DOE would be one of the places that Obambi chose to construct one of those MASSIVE data centers that collected (and probably still houses) exobites of personal information. When they were building it, I knew someone who worked for the company that built the data center. He could not say much, but it became obvious what it was, especially in hindsight.
I’m confused. How is a Utah law going to eliminate a federal department?
As evidenced by the following excerpts, the states have never expressly consitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend in the name of INTRAstate education. So until the states amend the Constitution expressly delegate such power to the feds, there is no choice but to shut down Department of Education imo.
"On a few articles of more general and necessary use, the suppression in due season will doubtless be right, but the great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphases added] Thomas Jefferson : Sixth Annual Message to Congress.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Shutting down the Dept. of Education should also result in reduced federal taxes, corrupt career lawmakers using unconstitutional federal taxes to provide unconstitutional federal funding for education to buy votes imo.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
Remember in November 18 !
Since Trump entered the 16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the 18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
In fact, if Justice Gorsuch is approved but turns out to be a liberal Trojan Horse then we will need 67 patriot senators to remove a House-impeached Gorsuch from office.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February 18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably havent been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed above.
