For one thing, stepping aside on the Russia inquiry isn’t as big of a deal now as it might have been months ago. That’s because the Russia investigation isn’t really going anywhere. On March 9, BuzzFeed reported that Democrats on the committee are worried that their base is expecting dramatic results that simply won’t be coming.
Even some Democrats on the Intelligence Committee now quietly admit, after several briefings and preliminary inquiries, they don’t expect to find evidence of active, informed collusion between the Trump campaign and known Russian intelligence operatives, though investigators have only just begun reviewing raw intelligence. Among the Intelligence Committee’s rank and file, there’s a tangible frustration over what one official called “wildly inflated” expectations surrounding the panel’s fledgling investigation.
“The Russia narrative has been a sensational marketing effort, but the investigation won’t live up to the hype,” Michael Sainato writes. Glenn Greenwald of the Intercept has a good rundown of the problems caused by Democrats hyping Russian conspiracy theories.

But Rep. Nunes will continue to dig into the potentially improper handling of information collected on Trump associates. And now he’ll have more time to do so. Those who watched him investigating previous intelligence problems know he is like a dog with a bone when it comes to getting to the bottom of wrongdoing.

The whole Russian thing was a lie from start to finish. A lie to cover the RATS criminal spying on Americans for political gain. Were any conversations or people outed from Hillary’s side that talked with the Russians? Kind of odd seeing as how she could sell 20% of American Uranium to Russia with big pay to play bonuses to the Clinton foundation syndicate without any conversations revealed from that. Amazing how one sided this has become has it not?
Isn’t Trump’s Syria attack the end of the Russian fake news story? It was a direct challenge to the Russians and their Assad ally.

Today I saw someone suggest that Russia was behind the chemical attack in Syria to enable President Trump to look good. Unbelievable what they will come up with to make up a Trump/Russia connection.
That the facts cut against the narrative is no harm to the narrative. Trayvon Martin is still considered a “victim,” and the “Trump/Russia Connection” can be similarly kept alive, forever.

Obama did the surveillance and knew he would be in deep doodoo if it came out.
Trump might have known about it and ignored it but for the Russia BS story.
I have started to wonder if Obama, although not very smart, figures if Hitlery had left the Russia thing alone Trump might leave the illegal spying alone.

I guess I am not following the news as closely as I
thought. When I heard that Devin Nunes had recused
himself from the election interference investigation
by the Russians I thought it was a big Democrat victory.
Instead, Nunes gets to rid himself of the biggest
nothingburger since hope and change while focusing on
the real crime of Dem’rats spying on the Trump
transition team. Sounds good to me.
