It just seems that every speciality retailer is now just Amazon's showroom. Look at it there, but it from them.
The exception being Costco and I've bought a 48" and 32" TV there in the past 3 months.
I'm surprised they bit it before Best Buy.
Radio Shack is gone, stores closed here, as well .... may be on line only. Allegedly Chapter 11 twice in a very short time.
Retail is a tough slog now with only those with the best business models surviving.

My last four TV’s have been from Best Buy and Costco.
Don’t forget Sam’s Club.
Years ago America depended on catalogs for choice. Now, it’s online. The wheel keeps on turnin’.
I walked into a Worst Buy abut two years ago and had a list of like 6 things I needed. I couldn’t find ANY of them. I had to look for a manager who gleefully told me “It’s online only, but we can ship it to you!”
I asked hm why he was so proud of that and he started extolling the virtues of their vast online selection and they could ship it to me in between three and 10 days. I told him that these were things I needed tomorrow. He continued on about how vast their online selection is and how they could ship anything to me...for a delivery charge, of course.
I stopped him and said, “Are you listening to yourself? When a customer shows up and nothing he needs is in the store and you crow about shopping at home online (they won’t order it for you in the store), how much longer do you think they’ll keep coming back?”
“Well, sir, that’s why we have such a huge online selection.”
“And how much longer do yo suppose they’ll be needing retail store managers?”
I thanked him for his time and left him to think about how quickly he’s putting himself out of a job.
We tried to deal with them on a tv. We tried to dicker over the price which was some $700 cheaper on line. They told us they could not, would not match on line pricing because...well they had overhead.
Ok...good point. Except the place we bought it was a brick and mortar in Joisey...had it shipped to us and paid no sales tax.
Never went back.
At least this outfit is going out of business with some notice. A big electronic retailer in my locality gave no warning at all when they closed up shop back in the 1980s. This was when rear projection big screens were all the rage. One poor soul I know of went in on the last Friday and paid $2400 cash to have his widescreen delivered the next day. When the place closed that Friday, the employees were told the gig was up and given their final paychecks, which bounced. The guy never got his widescreen and became just another creditor at the back of the line. Turned out the company had stopped paying rent and utilities three months prior, and also had stopped making payments on their floorplan arrangement (its a retail thing, look it up).
For those final three months all the revenue generated went in somebodys pocket, with zero outflow aside from what had to be paid to keep people working there, and like I said their last paycheck was worthless. Now that is ruthless.
The only time I shopped in an HH Greg store I noticed the prices were extremely high, much higher than Best Buy & other stores.
We bought our appliances there in the Fall & had good service. A lot of people will be losing jobs.
We’ve got to move these refrigerators. We’ve got to move these color TVs.
Well, as you said; amazon is getting the lion’s share, and home apppliances are selling more through Lowes and Home Depot. Brick and mortar dedicated to those items just doesn’t cut it anymore.
I bought the PC I’m using right now at hhgregg. They had a good sale and I knew what I was getting. I went in several other times when we were shopping for cameras and appliances and could get nobody to answer any questions - the in store help were as clueless as clams. I bought elsewhere. Won’t miss them.
Me too, just bought a very large TV there.Thought they were there to stay.
