Maybe he should show his plan and results before he’s voted for. What a lib.
And hand over those keys!
>>I’m sure Rahm (nanny-state) Emanuel is sure he knows what’s best for us all.<<
Someone going to come up with boilerplate that says “I am going to go to college at XXX” (maybe even select a name at random). It will be tweeted/FBd to every single student in a matter of days.
This is meaningless nanny-state “I have power over you and here is proof” claptrap.
WHAT ABOUT STAY-AT-HOME-MOMS?..................
I suppose just the act of graduating has become such a negative in the inner city that they want to make sure everyone never gets there so they don’t have to spend the money for the paper the diplomas are printed on.
Was Rahm sitting around thinking, “I wonder what I could do to make myself even less popular?”
What a commie turd.
What is the penalty for having no plan? Repeat grade 12 until a viable plan is presented?
This little tin-pot dictator sinks to a new low.
What is your plan, Little Johnny? “Well, I’se wanto be a big dope pusher and run a string of Ho’s?”
Very good, Little Johnny, this means you will be a loyal Democrat.
What are Rahm Emanuel’s plans?
See how communism works?
From each according to his works, to each according to his needs.
Scratch a progressive/leftist and you’ll always find a fascist underneath
This is too easy. Just say I want to be a community organizer.
The next step is then for government to tell you which job you will have after graduation.
"When I graduate, my plan is to remove Homo Ballerinas from office."
Actually, I think the jerk is right on this one. But it’s only because he and his ilk have undermined the public education system for generations now.
Kids have to think of a future, and they’re never told to do that...in fact, poor people do it less than anybody else, because while in the US there is no limit to your aspirations based on your class, race or anything else, in their minds there is a limit. They want to stay stuck in the ghetto or in the double wide in the woods because they don’t know anything else and they’re scared and there’s a lot of downward pressure (both poor blacks and poor whites are heavy TV watchers) so they don’t even think their kids can move beyond being on welfare, in and out of jail, having kids out of wedlock and expecting the state to be daddy, etc.
Give them a positive plan for the future. And they won’t do it unless they have to, unfortunately.
This is probably the first time in my life I have ever agreed with Emanuel.
It is very hard for a proven crack-pot to rise above being a crack-pot.
Won't disagree with that; however, let me take the other side of the larger issue.
Most of us have no idea of what it must be like to live in certain parts of Chicago's culture. Most of those "kids", especially those who lack effective parenting, are moved through the system like cattle are moved through the stockyards. They have little or no idea of the opportunities that await them, or of the realities they face.
In fact, I would recommend that each student be required to meet with their counselor during the freshman year for the express purpose of start work on a four-year plan ("mission statement"). Annual reviews and applicable adjustments would also keep the counselors accountable in a meaningful way for the student's accomplishments.
