Are you serious?
The diploma is for meeting the academic requirements to get one.
They were never handed out for plans on what you are doing with your life.
If that’s the case, why even bother with school at all?
Why not just give the government a life plan, get its approval, and skip school altogether?

Yep. Just like “City of Ember”. Made both my kids read the book and watch the movie when in Jr. High. Advised them to read “1984” and
“Animal Farm” as well.

This is ridiculous. You get the diploma for what you’ve done during the 4 years of High School. What you may or may not do in the future is entirely irrelevant.

Dear Mister Mayor,
I am graduating in June 2017 from a Chicago high school. Here are my plans.
1. Ballet
2. Let Daddy hook me up with some powerful people, get some good jobs
3. I may be tiny but I can be mean and threaten people and make them do what I want
4. Get powerful people to need me by their side so I am not on their opponents’ side
5. Safe gay bathhouse sex
That’s about it, also listen to some cool music and do poppers and coke.

Hm?....6th or 8th grade was more than enough for most our nation's citizens in my mother and father's generation ( born 1913) but now Rahm thinks **14** years of schooling should now be the norm.
Let's call this what it is: INFANTILIZATION!
No wonder that 30 is now the new 20 for today's youth.

So... If my son makes a plan that the mayor or senator or whatever doesn't like, he's denied his future therefore has no future therefore defeating the purpose of High school diplomas to begin with!!!

Get an exception and don't need to do anything and can run like hell.
