Russia's deputy U.N. envoy, Vladimir Safronkov, warned on Thursday of "negative consequences" if the United States carries out military strikes on Syria over a deadly toxic gas attack.

"We have to think about negative consequences, negative consequences, and all the responsibility if military action occurred will be on shoulders of those who initiated such doubtful and tragic enterprise," Safronkov told reporters when asked about possible U.S. strikes.

When Obama did something stupid, his supporters said don't worry, Obama's just playing four-dimensional chess. We peasants just can't appreciate it.

Now it looks like Trump is targeting Assad (a tyrant, but also an enemy of ISIS). And the Russians are upset.

Sorry, but peasant that I am, I just can't appreciate it.

A few days ago, Trump was flailing around getting hit by the media, and looking like a dunderhead. My brother said- “just wait, he’ll start a war to deflect this crap, it’s what they all do. “ My brother is a pretty bright guy.

One of the most useful functions of war, from the perspective of globalist types, is to divide the populace into emotional prowar and antiwar groups.

Just be careful, try to stay objective.

Following growing criticism of Syria in the West and US threats to intervene militarily, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday in an interview that his country’s backing of Syrian President Bashar Assad is “not unconditional”.

Naturally :-)

It’s not so much the move, but how’s its results are viewed.

I see potential brilliance in this one.

Someone is trying to provoke a war between US and Russia.
Probably to prevent both from fighting against ISIS and radical Islam.

Note that I posted the story after the actual missile strike. I think that the Russian ambassador’s quote now carries a bit more weight. Of course I could be wrong.

Yes and now Tillerson can freely go without phony suspicion to Moscow as he is being dispatched there by Trump. This will open the lines of communication hopefully further with Putin as the assertion of “not unconditional” is a rather glaring admission.
