If the situation was reversed with a Democrat in the White House and controlling both houses of congress, all cabinet posts would have been filled long ago and the Supreme Court would have been filled.

Split the difference.
Keep the filibuster in place but with the following restrictions:
- Senators only get to speak once per item being considered
- Senators must indicate their desire to address the floor by signing up for a slot to speak.
- The members will be allowed to speak in order of seniority as senator and if in the event of a tie, by date which their state entered the union.
- Senators can speak for as long as they want but if they either leave the podium or stop speaking for more than one min, they are considered finished
- If a senator does not wish to speak on his turn, the opportunity is forfeited.
- When the list of speakers is exhausted and the podium is vacant for more than 10 min then the issue is automatically considered closed for debate.

Once we do, we can do the same thing if Ginsberg croaks.
Don’t make a deal with the devil. In this situation, they would use it in a nanosecond.

If they use the nuke now, the precedent has been set and they can nuke them on every other appointment!

Lets them remind the public that while Reid abolished the filibuster for all but SCOTUS appointments, the GOP decided to keep it as it is a time honored tradition.
I want all of Trump’s appointments to sail through and I don’t give a damn how it looks.
Then I want him and them to rip apart each and every part of the Marxist Kenyan’s agenda.
No just nuke it. The Trump presidency is being held hostage by hack judges in lower courts because of the 4-4 SC. No more delays.
First of all, who cares what Harry Reid thinks or says. He is out of the senate.

Politically, for Republicans, it’s better to do it NOW, when we’re replacing Scalia, than later when we’re replacing one of the more liberal justices. It would be less controversial.
