Today was the first appearance of en egyptian Mig29/35. The picture showing the Mig in sand colors with the egyptian markings and 811 as a serial number, was taken in Jukhovsky airbase south of Moscow.
Egypt ordered 42 Mig29/35 the first deliveries are expected on Q2 2017.

I was shocked that the approx cost of all the Moldovan MiG-29’s (30 or so units, I believe) bought by the USA some years back was something like $1.4 million EACH:
I thought it would be much higher than that.
Re: the low unit cost: Maybe the got the monkey models.
It’s unlikely they were monkey model versions as Moldova was part of the Soviet Union. The U.S. purchased those 29s as they were nuclear capable.
About the low unit price, remember that Moldova was/is dirt poor. The last thing they would have wanted was international sanctions for selling those jets to Iran or North Korea.
That plane will be easy to spot in the air to be shot down... : )
You can thank Obama for the reintroduction of Russian weapons into Egypt and the ME. These planes come with Russian trainers and a dependence on Russian repair parts.
