69-year-old Sultan Ogras was stabbed in the throat.

Update: 21:10 (CET) – A second attack occurred against people protesting the first attack on the three ‘no’ voters. A group calling themselves the ‘Ottoman Hearths’, thought to be a pro-Erdogan group was reported as carrying out the attack. Police dispersed crowds as helicopters continue flying above the consulate.

Three people have been attacked by a pro-Turkish government group in Belgian capital Brussels as they were on their way to vote in Turkey’s constitutional referendum.

An elderly woman by the name of Sultan Ogras was injured after being stabbed in the throat by the attackers. Two other men were also wounded.

Ogras was taken to hospital but her condition is reported as stable, after initial fears that she was seriously wounded.

The attackers took refuge in the Turkish Consulate as tensions continue, Firat News Agency reported. The victims were taken to hospital.

Turkey’s upcoming referendum has polarised society both inside and outside the country as the ruling Justice and Development (AKP) Party continues employing a rhetoric accusing those voting against the reform “terrorists”.

The 18-article reform will give the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sweeping executive powers, which the government claims will strengthen the country’s resolve against all its enemies.

A group calling itself the the ‘European No Platform’ formed to organise the vote against the constitutional reform released a statement condemning the attack.

“The dictator in the palace [Erdogan] and the fascist AKP-MHP mob cannot scare us with these attacks. We are going to work even more for a ‘no’ vote in the referendum,” the group said, calling on everyone with a vote to vote in support of “democracy, freedom and equality,” against the change.

People gathered outside the Turkish consulate in Brussels to protest the attack.

Think about this, in Brussels, Erdogan supporters attack opposition voters. Knife a 69 year old woman?

Are they totally insane? That question answers itself.

April 16th cannot come soon enough, let the Referendum be past.

What is it that is characteristic of the Turkish government that is different from other government’s in the region? You never hear of pro-French government or pro-German government supporters going around knifing people.

Very accurate and disturbing cartoon. Reality is not far from that.

Yes, that and a lot more. Very sobering that they are currently a NATO member.

Remember, his attitudes are a holdover from Obozo and Hillary’s agenda. And SA money.

I understand your concern and the plight of western civilization with respect to Muslim incursion disguised as “immigration.”

However, my first thought is “why did this get MSM reported?”

Because the proponents were supposedly pro-Turk government? Had it been just a garden variety “Asian immigrant” thing, would have it been reported? Just a few questions. There are some very real problems there, and they aren’t just en vogue distasteful government only in nature.

Yes, he was not great, but a lot better than this.

I do know from exchanges on Twitter that there are still some Turkish soldiers who are Kemalists. But they don’t dare talk about that when Erdogan is in charge. Have had conversations with them.

Well there were many that thought that all the old Prussian Generals with the “Vons” in their name, would never allow Hitler to rule over the Wehrmacht.

“why did this get MSM reported?”

Because KOM News is not MSM. It is probably the most accurate reporting available on the subject of the Middle East. But it is based in Germany, is pro Kurd. And it is banned by Erdogan. He has managed to get all URLs directed to KOM News article supressed by Twitter. If you take the URL I posted and try to post that on Twitter it will refuse.

Gee....I didn’t realize you have some vested interest in this with this KOM - I looked at the link and made my comment. Far be it from be to ask a question.

I can sympathize and understand your pro-Kurd stance even in this. But my point is that real news isn’t politically motivated. You can object to that, that’s okay. I don’t run the news nor control it. I just read - and I did read this.

OK, I’m sorry if I came across rude.

You are correct, I am strongly supportive of Syrian Kurds. But honestly not 100% supportive of all Kurds. They are not all alike, it was slow to come to me that there were significant differences. But most of them are good people. Not like US, but good neighbors and they have been badly treated as a group for a very long time.

I am only interested in the truth. I generally don’t find it in the MSM in the US. Often also absent in the English papers, depending upon the subject. I think that is product of political correctness over there.

Have watched this for some time. Have friends that I have know for 3+ years there. I can read an article from one of the foreign sources and pretty well know if it is true or if it is propaganda. Both exist there and here in the US.

Respectfully

He has supported some very unpopular policies.

And he is very arrogant.

I don’t in any way seek to diminish your support of Kurds - far from it in fact.

I am inclined to be on their side also. I was only commenting in the depth and breadth of what I see coming from Europe and it seems that everything that concerns these peaceful “immigrant/refugees” is unfounded and untrue and misguided from their perspective but when you get to unpopular PC situations that can be used for their purposes, they are fair game.

In my book, ANY muslim outsider in Europe is a bad thing. Very bad. They are there to use, misuse and abuse entitlements and produce the next generation that will consume Europe. No good will ever come from it.

I share your concern for the impact of this uncontrolled migration upon Europe. It is extremely bad policy, brought about by the mindless Globalist Socialist Elite.

That said, not all Muslim are a threat. The problem is the children of Muslims seem to be susceptible to regression toward jihad during their youth. Much like Liberals have a history of spawning Communist children.

I worked closely with a blogger in Egypt before and during the removal of Morsi and the Muslim brotherhood. She and I communicated articles and information both directions for quite a while. She was/is married to a Norwegian. I don't often hear from her, but we are still friends. She is still in Egypt but no longer a blogger, still doing similar web work. Very nice people.

At the same time I had 2 friends who were associated with that blogger. Both of which now were/are Christians. One never commented either way, but later produced a picture of him with Christmas tree. smile. The other was young and left leaning and muslim, later I find he is a Christian and has changed a lot, matured and seems much happier with his life. I detected indirectly that he would like to immigrate away from the Middle East. As long as Sisi is president, Egypt is fairly safe for Christians. If that changes there is always the possibility that persecution and murder of Christians is possible.

Sigh. I wish it were not so, but that is how I view it.
