Reporters and activists were outraged that White House press secretary Sean Spicer was curt with American Urban Radio Networks correspondent April Ryan during Tuesday's press briefing, and told her to please stop shaking her head.
"It seems like you're hellbent on trying to make sure that whatever image you want to tell about this White House stays," Spicer lectured Ryan. "You're asking me a question and I'm going to answer it. Which is the president I'm sorry, please stop shaking your head again."
Spicer's request for Ryan to not shake her head caused an uproar amongst journalists and activists on Twitter. Spicer's statement was described as "patronizing," "outrageous," and "demeaning and insulting."

"Stop shaking your head again," Spicer lectures @AprilDRyan, who is a grown woman.

"Please stop shaking your head again," Spicer says to veteran WH correspondent April Ryan. That is some patronizing bullshit.

Spicer's treatment of @AprilDRyan was pretty demeaning and insulting, tbh.

Sean Spicer to April Ryan "Stop shaking your head again" I'm sorry, what?

Some implied that Spicer was inclined to tell Ryan to stop shaking her head because she is a female and African-American.
Sean Spicer is rude to everyone, but it's difficult to imagine him speaking to a white, male reporter the way he spoke to April Ryan today.

Spicer keeps telling a female African American reporter to stop shaking her head.

It is wonderful to see someone with the cojones to call out these grade school intellect journalists.
It’s a small room. The rattling noise was probably very annoying.
Hey leftists! your false fake hypocritical outrage doesn’t convince me. STFU.
I like the part where he told her that if President Trump used Russian dressing on his salad that would be reported as a Russian connection.
He was warning her that her wig was coming loose.
The journalists have no clue as to what is coming. It is all so sad.
Kick the bitch out.
Let’s see how they like THAT.
Spicer should state that he was just trying to help her out by not wanting her to shake her James Brown wig off.
What sound does it make when snowflakes melt?
She’s female AND black. Sacred cow. oops, did I just call her a cow? (no)
Oh noes... the concern trolls are concerned
Hillary even weighed in on this. Hillary expressed mock outrage about April Ryan when she gave a speech yesterday.
It makes me laugh a bit, because I’m sure Hillary has no idea who April Ryan is. Hillary praised her as a wonderful journalist and all that. But she just used this incident as a prop for her bull blank speech about how women are marginalized and all that stuff that liberal females such as Hillary pounce on.
He should stop calling on her EVERY DAY. The snowflakes will never be happy with Spicer. Obama could tell the Fox reporters basically to go to hell, and it was a-okay with the Democrat WH press corps.
April Ryan. The Bolshies’ new “rising star”. She’s a moron.
A grown woman acting like a 2yr old.
Spicer’s statement was described as “patronizing,” “outrageous,” and “demeaning and insulting.”
It seems that projection is the de-facto primary weapon of the left.
