I’m of that generation

What many under 55 only know from how history was written by the Left mind you is that being counter culture in the boomer era was not by default leftist

It was a rebellion against the staid establishment

At its roots

The politics built upon that was a cornucopia of issues that some embraced in total and some only pieces

Nearly everyone was somewhat counterculture but only a minority went whole hog lefty

White boomers voted majority GOP ever since they got the right to vote except maybe second Clinton tour 1972-

Daltrey was always sort of a Brit

Like Ray Davies and Bowie and Bryan Ferry

Clapton is very Brit....he’s been accused of all manner of malfeasance for his friendship with UKIP

I am of that generation as well. I saw The Who in 1967 (their first US tour), I wasn’t old enough to drive. The Who were opening for Herman’s Hermits and it was an odd mix. The clean teenybopper Herman’s Hermits following the wild, guitar and amp destroying Who. Changed my preferences in music back in the day.
