Remember the time NPR ran a flattering article about a tea party leader? Never happened.

Ah, they’re starting to learn that just yelling & being annoying doesn’t make things happen. Finally, a spark of maturity.
Next they can get in those positions and learn that there are RULES, that there is a CONSTITUTION, defining how things are done and what can be done; they can learn that there are LIMITS, that they can’t just spend endlessly and can’t just compel random people to submit to their will.

But somehow I doubt this will come to much. That a few long-time participants are finally waking up to the pointlessness of protests doesn’t mean their snowflake followers will last long in the heated halls of government. Idjits who think marching in brown-shirt uniforms carrying guns (many Airsoft) saying nothing meaningful beyond “stop filming us”, or standing in freeways holding non-sequitur signs, or wearing pink hats in large numbers while unable to articulate why, aren’t the kind of people to comprehend the realities of laws and budgets.

Oh, and yeah: defund NPR. Only a small amount of their revenue comes from government anyway, so let their supporters actually support.

So this guy just decided to move to some small town, and run as a hard-leftist....and he thought THAT would work?

There is a reason why Democrat areas are shrinking down to nothing but cities, and he sort of gets it:

“Protesters, he says, keep repeating the same mistakes: fetishizing the pageantry of protest and confusing online social marketing wins with real change. “

He also forgot their politics of ever-increasing crazy ID politics.

I listened to this story on my 90 minute commute this morning. What cracked me up was I was thinking that this kid is a perfect example of the old rule, “show me a young man that is not a liberal and I’ll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old man that IS a liberal, and I’ll show you a man without a brain.

And this one: With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.

The guy is gaining wisdom as he ages and grows a family. Like a lot of us ex-hippies, he’s figuring out how the world works and changing his perspective. He’s not “arrived”, but he is clearly on the journey.

I’ve seen leftists take over small Colorado mountain towns. It is not good for locals.

Run for office and see how well you do justifying your nutty positions.

The problem is, most protesters are typically uneducated and unemployable. Humm, I guess that does make them potential candidates.

So he goes to a small town, talks revolution and loses in a landslide. NPR treats that as a victory.

OCCUPY may sound good in a city but with real people it is foolish.
