Thomas Massie voted against Ryan as Speaker this last time.
Many more did not vote for him the first time around.
(3) if republicans kick over too many liberal anthills at once, there is a downside risk that they could lose elections in 2018. so if they can wait until a better timing opportunity occurs, then they should wait, at least until they can gain some coverage for some of the GOP-lite wing members up for re-election in 2018. Some GOP-lite might actually be GOP-lite in name only, and in fact ready to deliver when the rubber meets the road, eg, USSC nomination confirmation votes. Some GOP-lite may have to vote liberal at times when it does not really “count,” else they lose in the next election. Like it or not, hard right might need those votes when the going gets tough.
That’s fine but which Republican House member would get 218 votes for Speaker. My suggestion would be Newt Gingrich. Maybe he could get 218. I can’t think of anyone else who could get 218 votes and would know what they’re doing. If they can’t decide on anyone, then you get some nobody like Boehner or Hastert.
I’m not impressed by the 2015 election. Obama was president and all the phony votes in the House meant nothing.
Now we have a true leader in the Executive Branch. Did any principled FC member offer himself up as a candidate? Anyone? Even as a protest.
Which one has called to vacate the Chair? Maybe I missed it.
Funny, I envisioned last night Trump would have to back out of that promo for his friend Janine’s show.
It’s now being billed as a “coincidence”, her remarks and his promo. Still, it was a signal if anyone needed one.
Newt would be head and shoulders better than Boehner/Ryan.
I don’t think his next rally is going to draw much of an enthusiastic crowd if he continues dissing the people that got him where he is.
I would imagine that that “policy wonk” reputation is all contrived too. Ryan-o is a useless Badger, but he is here to stay.
I took a bunch of flak on another thread by saying I wouldn’t go to another one.
My enthusiasm went down when he attacked the Congressman I worked by butt off to elect and eject the weasel Eric Cantor.
Well, now that’s I’ve explained it calm down and enjoy. He’s very far ahead of them in my humble opinion. These guys are out of their depths. Rand Paul bought his book and gave it to the FC. I have this visual of them rummaging through the pages trying to figure out what he’s doing. Almost no one wanted him to walk away. Every “journalist” is asking them why let it explode. Everyone wants a deal more than Trump To this point(watch the Rand Paul interview from after the failure and the Meadows one from today). I’d call that leverage.
The base will be fine. Relax. It’s one bill 60 days in.
I dont think his next rally is going to draw much of an enthusiastic crowd if he continues dissing the people that got him where he is.

Exactly!
No one in Congress got Trump anywhere. The FC was as anti Trump as anyone. Has everyone already forgotten the election. Trump don’t everyone. To hear people on this board Cruz, Rand and Mike Lee carried Trump over the line. Hahahahaha
I’m not talking about congressmen, I’m talked about the conservative voters that enthusiastically supported him.
Ryan is UNELECTED!
Ryan was selected and appointed by Boener after Boener CANCELLED the rightful election for speaker.
People are sooo dumb.
Send both Priebus and Ryan BACK TO WISCONSIN.
President Trump needs to start cleaning house else he will lose his base—voters who elected him to lead changes. He failed to keep his day one promises, he let Ryan bring up a stupid Obama Lite replacement. Trump is failing and will fail if he doesn’t stop Ryan and company from undermining him.
Preibus is in Ryan’s back pocket. I wouldn’t trust Priebus any more than I would trust Ryan.
I thought they had 7 prior bills that Oboma shoved aside when they knew he would. How hard would it be to write a bill that just said: REPEAL OBAMACARE. Two words. Done!
