White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus dismissed speculation Sunday that President Trump wants to oust House Speaker Paul D. Ryan over the failure to pass a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.
No, he doesnt, Mr. Priebus insisted on Fox News Sunday.
The speculation about the presidents dissatisfaction with the speaker mounted after Mr. Trump urged his Twitter followers to watch Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirros program on Saturday, in which she opened the show with a call for the removal of Mr. Ryan.

Well that’s a shame.
Ryan is no friend Mr President.
OF COURSE he didn’t endorse her message! (wink-wink!)
Trump, willful, plenus ipso.
No, but he put o dog collar and leash on the Ryno.
He’s picking the wrong allies in Congress.
Nope, he just stoked the flames :P. He’s putting pressure on the FC and the leadership. Good Job! Long Game!
People are dumb to expect Trump to call for the Speaker of the House to be gone. Especially when his agenda is at stake. This obsession over Paul Ryan has already ruined the healthcare bill, and now some want a Civil War while the president is trying to get things done. So stupid
Nope, he just stoked the flames :P. Hes putting pressure on the FC and the leadership. Good Job! Long Game!

Yeah, his “long game” is beginning to fracture the base! Take a gander at Twitter. A good many conservatives are scratching their heads and asking: “WTF is going on?”
There isn’t another House member right now who could get 218 Republican votes for Speaker. What you’d get is another mess which is the last thing Trump needs right now. You might even get a moderate Republican Speaker elected with 30 Republicans and all the Democrats. For better or worse, Trump and Ryan are a team.
I just want him to stop listening to him. President Trump can’t call for his ouster anyway. That was the mistake of the members and they have to live with it. Ryan couldn’t lead his way out of a paper bag, I’m just hoping POTUS has learned he can’t depend on him. He’s a great policy wonk, but he is not a leader.
“Hes picking the wrong allies in Congress.”
I don’t like Ryan, but the Freedom Caucus picked him. They selected Ryan as their leader to represent the House in negotiations with the Executive Branch. Those are the breaks.
Trump clearly hyped Judge Jeannine’s show for a reason. It was no accident. She called for Ryan to resign.
The election of Ryan as Speaker was also no accident. All who voted for him are responsible. Has the Freedom Caucus called to vacate the Chair, or have we miss the news?
“Nope, he just stoked the flames :P. Hes putting pressure on the FC and the leadership. Good Job! Long Game!”
That is exactly what is going on.
The RINOs picked him, the Freedom Caucus does not have the numbers to oppose.
“The RINOs picked him, the Freedom Caucus does not have the numbers to oppose.”
Having numbers shouldn’t matter. If they had their principles and some guts they would have opposed Ryan. But they didn’t. Not one of them stood against him. They are as feckless as the rest of the politicians in DC.
They get along with Ryan yet are willing to sabotage the MAGA agenda. This bill should have been sent to the Senate for revision. They could have killed it on the way back or stalled it in Committee.
Let’s see how the tax bill goes.
Priebus is fake news. He needs to be ousted and shut up after Ryan comes down. Sick of this fascist
President Trump might not, but me personally, absolutely. Dump Ryan.
hey all
wondering if it could actually all be kabuki theater for benefit of keeping masses temporarily on hold?
(1) trump’s main suit is economy. first priority is fix economy through tax cuts and entitlement related budget cuts. if he does this, he wins hearts and minds of enough LIVs to do whatever else he wants on his agenda so taxes are de facto first.
(2) obamacare left to itself will implode. this is the ace in the hole for republicans. this is why no plan for obamacare fix from democrats (to my knowledge— and note that sanders is formally not a democrat, iirc). so republicans always have option to wait on obamacare and blame democrats; this happens to be exactly what they are doing right now.
