Not his job. He has tax principals and he’ll push for those. The details and the implementation is supposed to be worked out by the House and Senate. The fact that he has to be this involved is a testament to how badly the legislative branches are working right now

“Trump doesn’t have a tax”

Now you are just making stuff up.

The tax plan was released during the primaries and he talks about it in every speech but I guess you missed it.

Bingo. Way too many shallow thinkers here on FR. The Freedom Caucus is just another pawn in the game. The whole system is a con game designed to keep everyone in power. Freedom Caucus claims conservative principles while at the same time voting for the very Speaker who will ensure they can’t enact their agenda. Conversely, the leadership allows them to spout off and keep the right wing purists (like many on here), engaged in the electorate who actually believe something will get done. All the while, everyone says they tried but nothing gets done.

Trump knows this, which is why he wanted a vote, to get everyone on record. If they voted in the affirmative, he claims a victory of a massive rollback of many of the worst parts of OCare. If the vote went down to defeat, he shows the complete ineffectiveness of Ryan and we perhaps (doubtful), get a new Speaker. Part of me thinks this was the desired goal, a set up of Ryan. If there was no vote, he just exposed them all for the frauds they are.

Just to be clear. The Freedom Caucus are not heroes. They’re frauds, con-men, all playing their part in Washington’s little charade.

“Ryancare IS Obamacare trimmed”

That makes it better than obamacare, not worse.

He also promised to repeal Obamacare. How did that work out when the Ryan/GOP Obamacare Preservation Act was cobbled together a few weeks ago?

Can you forgive me for being a little skeptical about a "tax plan" that was floated out there almost a year ago?

Thank you. That’s what I thought, but I wanted to be sure to address your point from the proper perspective.

I agree with your take on it. I appreciate the original comments, and the clarification.

Question: Is there ANYTHING Trump can do wrong in your eyes? I’m dead serious — if he opened the borders, raised everyone’s taxes, and re-upped Obamacare (as he JUST attempted), you guys would be like, “Well, Dear Leader has a long-term plan, and JUST because he’s not tellin the whole world about it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a plan!! It’s cucks and obstructionists like you who are destroying America!” Again — absolutely DEAD serious; I’d bet my bottom dollar that’d be Trumpers’ response. IIt truly, truly, truly is disheartening and scary. (And pleeeease don’t paint me as some “NeverTrumper.” I thought he was doin a greeaaat job up to this point.)

Let's see what the House comes up with after insurance carriers send their 2018 renewal notices out in October/November of this year.

If he's still the Speaker of the House, you can be damn sure he'll have something much more effective than the half-assed crap he put out there earlier this month.

Not me, half of them are RINOs. So I stand with HALF of the Freedom Caucus.

I stand with freedom caucus before I would ever stand with Donald J Trump.

Most members of the FC never supported Trump to begin with.

Trump, by definition, is the first Independent President going back to the Founders. He is not beholden by the GOP establishment, the conservative wing, and not the Dems.

So he's going to take the initiative on healthcare reform and get wayward Dems and RINOs on board.

Again, you people bitching about Trump but yet you eagerly supported him. I knew that Trump represented a paradigm shift; meaning that ACU ratings and the old left vs right dichotomy set up by the media/Uniparty to advance the overall globalist agenda is dead. I have no problem with him courting Dems to get his agenda passed.

We cannot allow the media define what happened and set the agenda. Yhe rejection to this proposed legislation by conservatives should be ripped apart and specific with the proposed amendments singled out and the rejections to them itemized and made public knowledge.

WSJ been lying and stretching it for almost 2 years now about Trump. Throughout the primaries and up to now. Lie once, lie twice, keep repeating lies, quibbling, and making stuff up. Too many times to ever believe them on anything about Trump.
