White House Opens Door to Democrats in Wake of Health-Bill Failure
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 03/26/2017 | SIOBHAN HUGHES

Days after the House GOP health bill collapsed due to a lack of support from Republicans, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus brought up the idea of working with Democrats multiple times, leaving little doubt that the White House intended to send a message to the hard-line Republican flank.

This is disturbing. Instead of being a being a tough fighter, Trump turns out to be a deserter at the first sign of hardship.

“Or, he’s trying to make America great again. And saw that the Free-dumb cucks are in the way.”

I think it’s a brilliant move. It directly ties Obamacare to the Democrats and with all their fixes that they will suggest, Trump can come back and question why they didn’t do this in the first place.

It will also forces Ryan and the Republicans to make a decision about what they want to do about a health insurance bill as it relates to their own political careers.

Why would get so worked up over something the WSJ reports?

They’ve been in the Left’s hip pocket for some time now.

Most of their stuff has been absolutely terrible recently.

Why is anyone surprised at this?

Trump was never a conservative Republican. The GOPe doesn’t like him.

He is an outsider first.

Do you even know who Trump is?

He is quite possibly the most brilliant businessman, negotiator in modern American business.

This so-call "outreach" at Dems is a head-fake. It is designed to both get the Freedom Caucus to be more acceptable and think of the long-term goals and to peel off wayward Democrats who aren't fully on board with the kamikaze leftist tilt of the Democrat Party.

You eagerly voted for Trump knowing that the alternative was the Hildabeest. We all knew he wasn't a rock-solid conservative with a 100% ACU rating in the tradition of Goldwater or Reagan. I knew it; yet I swam through Lake Michigan to vote for him anyway. Trump's cabinet choices, and his early moves far surpasses both Bush I and II in conservatism.

Yeah he’s playing 6D chess.

He didn’t ### up this whole debacle by using his clout to twist RINO arms to vote for a Conservative BILL or he would campaign against them.

God ####ing forbid.

It was an awful bill. They way Ryan/Trump tried to shove it down our throats made sure it would never pass.

I agree that Trump is not a conservative. He's not really a Republican, either.

He ran as a populist, which leaves me scratching my head in bewilderment over why he would go out on a limb to support a half-assed Republican House health care bill that was supported by -- get this -- 17% of Americans.
