According to the UK Independent, President Trump reportedly handed Angela Merkel an invoice for $300bn, with interest included, to cover Germany's NATO fees.

We spent the equivalent of $5 trillion in 2017 dollars fighting WWII to put down the Japanese Imperialists and the Nazis (National Socialist German Workers' Party).

Then we blew another few trillion dollars rebuilding Europe and Japan - with most going to Europe.

Then another trillion or two was spent defending Europe for 0 years.

And for most of those 70 years much of Europe has looked down their noses at us except when they needed us to bail their snooty asses out of one jam or another.

Now they have themselves in another HUGE jam with their open border policy for Islamic terrorists and still don't want to pay the cost of defending themselves.

We might as well just pull out of NATO and be done with it. If Trump did this to Merkel then he will no doubt do it to the rest of the NATO leaders. They won’t pay, he’s just angering him by doing this, so just leave NATO completely, pull every U.S. force out of Europe, and leave them be.
