Somebody correct me, but didn't this same thing happen a few years ago? It seems like somebody hit a kid that ran in the street, and an enraged mob killed the driver. Clearly, it's best just not to drive at all in certain areas. I'd like to see the details on this current case.

In March 1980 John Favara accidently killed John Gotti’s young son. Kid was riding a minibike and pulled out into the street from behind a dumpster.

Favara went missing in May 1980 - never heard from again ..

Happened to John Gotti’s son. Driver was whacked shortly after.

I recall two similar incidents; one where van slid off road into porch killing woman——both driver and passenger were attacked and killed. Second, child runs into street and is hit by motorcycle (off duty cop), father attacks motorcyclist and is killed. Child was ok.
