Brexit 'clears way' for German domination claims Heseltine
BBC News ^ | 24 March 2017

The UK is handing control of Europe’s destiny to Germany by leaving the EU, Lord Heseltine has claimed.

The Tory peer, sacked as a government adviser after defying the whip over Brexit, said the Germans had lost World War Two but the UK was now giving them the “opportunity to win the peace”.

“I find that quite unacceptable,” he told the House Magazine. […]

Not only would Brexit alter the balance of power in Europe, he suggested that for many people of his generation, the UK’s decision might be regarded as a betrayal of the country’s fight against the Nazis. […]

He dismissed those who argue Britain’s standing in the world would be unaffected by EU withdrawal, saying the UK would lose its ability to act as a bridge between both the Commonwealth and the US and Europe. “The Americans will shift the focus of their interest to Germany.” …

Most pro-EU politicians within Britain are on board with German control of the EU. Heseltine does not seem to realize this, never mind know the contents of the treaties with respect to the EU.

German control of the charlie foxtrot that is the EU. The Germans are welcome to it. Their taxpayers can be the ones left holding the bag.

Germany could lead a camel to water. What a joke. Not even a country with borders or culture. Just a haven for 2 million cut throat immigrants. Totally doomed. Trump was sop very RIGHT!

Britain managed to not only survive but thrive without the EU for centuries. It needs to come up with some kind of loyalty test for immigrants and anyone who fails should be shown the door.

They should definitely talk about German dominance a LOT.

It will hasten the final breakup of the EU.

Depends on the leadership in Berlin.

Remember Jean Monnet’s words about the EU being “forged in crises”. They’ve always thought like this and even planned for it. They deliberately made the euro currency into one that would cause a crisis; same with the “refugee” debacle. A strong leader getting in there could turn things around very rapidly; the problem is the long-standing left-wing ideology that they adhere to being carried to the extreme.

Heseltine thinking that the UK could continue to influence the EU from within after all the years of not doing so, and even being overruled when attempting to do so, means he does not understand the EU at a fundamental level.

“A Great Fog Spreads over the English Channel, Europe Cut off”

I understand this was a headline in an English newspaper years ago. Note that it was EUROPE that was cut off from communication, while England, the center of the known world, still reigned supreme.

PS. The “multi-speed Europe” talked about for over a decade now is the true goal. Several strong countries united in a “hard core” with the weaker countries as vassals.

I would argue the opposite. The EU showed that Germany had won the war.

If people would look deeper into the postwar actions, they would see that such was the case. The formation of the European Coal and Steel Community so rapidly after the end of the war was one indicator. Installing Konrad Adenauer as chancellor of West Germany, and doing thing such as looking the other way while he put certain people in positions of power (with certain unrepented-of ideologies) and handing de-Nazification to his government after a mere two years is yet another and a huge one to boot. The rapid rise of leftism within Britain and the USA was yet another; more rapid in the UK (nationalization of key industries and the railroads, abominations like the 1967 Abortion Act) but still rapid enough in the USA (imitation of the autobahn system with the interstate highways, the Great Society, ad nauseam).

The EU is the new 4th Reich. Plain and simple. They will be the cause of the next World War.

My hope is that between Trump and the UK, we can, at the minimum, force the costs of socialism/Marxism onto those countries that want it thereby alleviating our treasury of supporting them and their nut-ball ideas. When you strip away all the crap, America has been financially supporting most of the world for the whole of the time period following the end of WWII. We've been patsies for the UN, NATO, etc., and that burden has been borne by the American Taxpayer while these groups have used our money to fund their socialist/Marxist governments and at the same time have tried their best to subvert our Constitutional guarantees. It's long past time for America to close her checkbook. Trump is right, the rest of the world has to pay to play, the free ride is over. And lastly, we should quit playing the charade with the "palestinians." The are not a country. They are just the collection of the $hit that was left over in that region at the end of WWII. Israel should reacquire all the land they've handed over to "the palestinians," and tell the Arab world they must absorb this trash into their various countries within a very short period of time.

And how do those who think “German dominance and or control of the EU” is a “bad” thing, then how do they think in time other, smaller EU states are going to react? Is it a net “positive” for the EU? I don’t think so, but frankly that does not bother me.

The EU writ should have never strayed beyond trade, just trade period.

Let me know when you announce as a candidate for something.
I'll send a few bucks.
All of these issues are not too hard to figure out.
Doing, or even suggesting, doing something takes guts.
