Who cares about RyanCare (Saturbray)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 KJV

If you need to lose a battle, RyanCare is the one to lose. This was another Marxist version of insurance which was going to eventually turn into universal Medicare. Now is the time to move on and begin working on a program which will repeal it after their mess falls apart. There is no need to replace it as there will be nothing left of Obamacare after the crash.

President Donald Jobs Trump made the same basic mistake everyone makes once they win the office he started listening to his managers. He has to realize managers get paid whether you win or lose, their checks still cash while yours does not. In this case his managers were Paul Ryan and some gutless advisers in the Oval Office. They told him as a Repub you have to play small ball or the Dems and media will not love you, so they came up with this incremental nonsense.

The entire District of Corruption hates Conservatism and especially President Trump so there is not going to be anything to satisfy them. If they hate you then give them a reason and go in with a bill which repeals it and tell the insurance industry they have to come up with some policies to cover the uninsurable. There will be wailing and crying but this is the only solution since the Dems crushed the insurance policies into a million pieces.

Let the DNC enjoy their victory although his blaming them was pure genius. Whenever he is asked about it he can blame them and in two years the people will be blaming them too. This was not the plan he wanted his name on and certainly not the direction the country wanted to go. For Paul Ryan 2020 to pretend he could insure people as well as the insurance industry did before OCare is a joke, there are far too many variables and pieces to have a gummit program manage. By all appearances he produced something worse although nobody really knew what was in it.

The problem with campaign managers is they have no idea what they are doing. They have never knocked on the doors of the people they claim to be representing and only manage from bunkers. They are trained to manage exactly the way Democrats manage even though Dems have so many advantages the Repubs never do. They have the media amplifying and worshiping their Marxist doxology while Repubs have to explain it themselves. Dems can lie over and over which is explained as the truth and marketed as the greatest brilliance in all of histoir, Repubs are inhumane and Trump has to understand this.

They should have went in with the full program at the start and let it win or fail on its own. He knows how to market a full loaf and maybe only end up with three quarters. What managers do not understand is none of this matters to the voters. They are completely tuned out and could not care less until the next election and only for the ones that count two weeks to one day prior. If you get out your vote you win, if you don’t you lose. They are not even going to remember what happened today. Nothing matters in elections except GOTV and managers have not figured this out, they are always in campaign mode and never into governing.

The fact is you have to try to put the genie back in the bottle. How do you underwrite an entire country which has not been underwritten for eight years? How do you cover pre-existing diseases and conditions when they have all been covered? Obama absolutely destroyed the insurance industry in his attempt to turn this into a communist country and now the only way to bring it back is over a decade or so to reinstall market based forces.

There may have to be two parallel programs to wean the people off of this while the healthy people are under another system which costs much less. There would have to be some sort of gummit guarantees for the high risk group while they are transitioned to the regular plans. There are no easy solutions which is why RyanCare was such a bad idea since he pretended there was.

The other question about ObamaCare2.0 was what keeps you from going to bucket two now? If so much the plan was having Secretary Price make all these changes, what stops him from making those changes anyway and eliminating as much of DeathCare as you can? It seems you can simply reverse much of what was done by the last regime and make things better.

Going forward he has to remember the polls are fake and he is not running for anything now. Come in with the plan of your wildest dreams and push as much of it through as you can. Make sure the budget defunds Obamacare and kill it ASAP. Make sure the American people understand and whether they agree or not they will respect or fear you. The Dems and media are going to hate you no matter what so give them a reason, but never let them be a factor in your decision.

Now is the time to push through an aggressive budget to help the economy grow. Ignore the usual forces who will cry deficits for tax cuts yet have been fine with deficits for every social boondoggle under the sun. Lower taxes and spending stimulates economic growth as the middle class can finally have dollars in their pockets rather than some bureaucrats’.

He has done a great job shrinking gummit and bringing businesses into the circle. If he stays with his strengths he can build a coalition which can tackle HC next year when there is more time to do it and put it on the ballot.

Losing the battle of RyanCare was a victory in disguise and a not very good disguise at that. He was trying to fix a problem the Dems created and it is a much more complex issue than can be solved in four weeks. The fact is it is still on their backs rather than his and when the details of RC were to come out he would be explaining to both left and right why it is better for years to come. He needs to ignore his managers when it goes against his gut and move to his sweet spot which is budgets, and cost cutting. This is a battle he should be eager to fight and win. Time to drain Moscow by the Potomac.

Pray America woke

A few points:

* I’m not fan of his, but Ryan is not Trump’s chief strategist and this was a significant strategic mistake. I personally would fire Bannon or Priebus because candidly is this flat out embarrassing as it weakens both the scope and ability to pass forthcoming legislative efforts.

* I agree, put it all together as one bill, then fight for it. The AHCA three-phase concept violates the “keep it simple” rule of success in marketing. Not having it pass in that form is preferable to what has occurred.

It’s been amazing to me to watch the number of freepers who wanted to wrap Obamacare around the neck of Trump and the Republicans with only minor changes.
Personally, I am proud of my Rep. Dave Brat for standing up for us.

Here’s where I think Ryan and the GOP leadership might be smarter than a lot of us give them credit for. If they knew it was going to be a tough political climate to get major changes to Obamacare, the best approach was to do exactly what was done: put up a bill that had strong GOP support but wasn’t going to pass.

Let's try something unique like REPEAL. The last time I recall the swamp repealing something was Prohibition and that was purely in the congress critter's self interest. A suggestion: repeal Obamacare (which doesn't affect the critters) and pass a law requiring the critters to participate in any new healthcare plan developed by them. I bet we would kill socialized medicine in this country forever.

See Post #6. One thing that has stuck in the back of my mind over the last few weeks is that the Ryan bill was very much NOT the kind of approach Trump would ever take on anything. Everything about him has been a grand, over-the-top spectacle. The Ryan bill was the equivalent of a crappy tenement in the South Bronx for a guy who builds 60-story luxury towers in Manhattan. This leads me to consider one intriguing possibility: IT WAS NEVER INTENDED TO PASS AT ALL.

I personally believe RomneyCare Romney was behind this mess and is still pulling Ryan’s strings. Romney, IMO, is eaten up with jealousy of Trump.

I didn't even spend the energy to get excited about Ryancare because it just didn't smell right from the start. It appeared too quickly and without much time for debate/change and it was pushed by Ryan, whom I don't trust one bit.

I thought it was too early to push any such bill anyway, since Trump's first priority should be to drain the swamp... which includes many in Congress. Letting the swamp entangle us deeper into their legislation felt wrong to me.

I want Trump to focus on getting some of the corruption out of government first, and start making some of these people realize that they work for us instead of us working for them, then start passing major legislation with that new theme in mind.

I think this is a defeat for Trump. Now everything he wants to do will be challenged by the GOPe, as well as the leftist courts. The Rats just have to sit back and watch. Then they will start impeachment and some GOPe will go along with it. Trump does not have any support except from the business community.

Who couldn’t get enough votes? Ryno Ryan.

The Ryno is therefore to blame. Saying that 0-care will stay around reinforces the blame.

Ryno is not a friend, and his position is weakened. That’s the silver lining. We want a speaker that will do a straight up repeal.

My theory is that Paul Ryan is no Nancy Pelosi, who can ram a square peg through a small round hole.

But also, Pelosi has an entire Democrat Party that is willingly Marxist leaning and a caucus that is straight up communist inspired. THAT helps when it’s cutting time.

The Republican Party is no longer, even in the House of Representatives, an entire block of free market capitalists and *none* are seen casting even a shadow at the doors of Christian Churches on a regular basis, EXCEPT, during a campaign cycle.

(Yes. Say “hello” to Ted Cruz, as well.)

The Bird Rule apparently hamstrings legislation in a divided Republican Party, full of voters who don’t like the Republican Party much anymore, in the first place.

The Democrat Party over the decades has become coastal, we now fully realize, with the population numbers to intimidate middle America.

The Democrat Marxists have overtaken our blue ribbon universities and all influential institutions, including reducing even public schools and churches to “feel good” therapies pushing tolerance, and happiness on earth, with no real consequences for such self indulgence.

Safe places... ZZZzzzz.

Now we hear about the Bird Rule pleasing that must first occur to get anything into the Senate, for a divided Republican Party, contrary to the solid block of Democrat votes for their legislation.

And, we hear that beating the Bird Rule calls for using the “Reconciliation” process, but that it can only be used two times in one year! So, the HORepresentatives has to be savants in order to decide which two issues are most important to circumvent the Bird Rule and shove into the Senate.

How can we function with any simplicity? On the other hand, the road blocks have probably saved us from even more Leftist legislation when they are in power, across the aisle.

Another thing. I am not wild about having a single Health Czar making implementation of law with abandon. Think how we felt when Sebelious, from Kansas, was Czarina.

Whether this is a blessing in disguise or a sack of lemons to be used to make lemonade is still to be determined.

Either way it’s no where near the hit the leftist propagandists make it out to be but it’s okay to let them think so.

I would call it a lesson in seeing where the rep’s stand and how much conviction they have. Now that the Trump team knows this they can move forward with less objectivity and a greatly improved footing. Now the team knows what they are working with.

While business and politics are different the business of government is still business.

WE have to drain the swamp by not electing swamp creatures like Ryan.
Until everybody who votes for weasels stops voting for them and elects decent guys like Dave Brat, there will be no draining of the swamp.

Both parties want single payer.

Most people are already on Medicaid, which is defacto single payer and the expansion in many GOP states is here to stay.

When Obamacare crashes, all that’s left is Medicaid.

This is by design. The pulling of the AHCA won’t change the inevitable outcome.
