My middle sister stole $108 thousand before the parents passed away and tried to steal some of the insurance money after our father passed away. We think she did steal more but she was the executor and could cover up. The older daughter used our parents like a piggy bank. I have read several stories over the years since with similar story. Never allow your kids or stranger access to your money without your involvement. Best to have at least 2 people not related help manage the money if you cannot. Preferably people that hate each other : )
