Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis wants to nominate a senior fellow at a Soros-funded think tank as undersecretary at the Pentagon, as the embattled Cabinet official continues to clash with the White House over prospective nominees.
Politico reports that Mattis wants Rudy deLeon a senior fellow at the far-left Center for American Progress (CAP) to come on board as undersecretary for personnel and readiness.
DeLeon previously served in the Clinton administration as deputy secretary of defense. During that time, Gen. Mattis served as his senior military assistant.
DeLeon worked for Boeing as senior vice president from 2001 to 2006 and currently serves on the board of major defense company General Dynamics.
This appears to be a peculiar choice for an undersecretary, given that deLeon recently endorsed a letter opposing the presidents immigration moratorium from six terror-linked countries. The letter calls Trumps national security order beneath the dignity of our great nation and advised government workers to apply discretion, in an attempt to essentially undermine the presidents initiative.
As a CAP official, he has engaged in campaigns to advance progressive values. deLeon advocates for government to take steps that will be a lasting legacy to the progressive societies for decades to come. He is also a proponent of President Obamas Iran nuclear deal with the terror state in Tehran.

It’s becoming clear this guy was a mistake
A Soros top dog?
Wait. What!? WTF is going on over there? Is Mad Dog some kind of Trojan Horse?
First Gorelick, now this?
Doesn’t sound good to me.
Is Mattis a moron, a traitor or both?
Fire Mattis, he cannot be trusted.
Not liking this...
Mattis talks a good game, but then actions speak louder than words.
Perhaps Mattis is NOT the man everyone thought he was. He did rise to power under the marxist wanna-be dictator 0bama.
No hiding the fact that if this is true, Mattis is no friend of the Republic by being a bipartisan hirer.
The progre$$ive rot has spread thru the military leadership and deny it as they will, their fruits of the last 4 administrations are evidence of it.. To call Iraq a success now, after its continued strife under “new managemnent” is a testament to failed leadership and lack of focus and adherence to a priority driven agenda in the Middle East, not a progressive one. There is a difference. Hopefully, Mr. Trump will see this appointment for what it is,, embedded surrender, slow, focussed, business as usual for the Left.
I wanted Duncan Hunter for DefSec but I figured Mattis was a decent pick nonetheless. So far, not impressed at all. Seems like he’s a few clicks left of center.
His nickname should be Madman, instead of Maddog.
He is out of his mind hiring Clinton and Obama hacks.
What a slap in the face to DJT.
Rabid Dog Mattis
I was so excited about Mad Dog...are all these guys squishy underneath?
These guys are looking more and more like Trojan uniparty cabinet heads—e.g., Gary Cohn, the Democrat former Goldman CEO who is his NEA; Tom Price pushing Obamacare 2.0 with both the fiction that real repeal can’t be done in reconciliation and so they just have to extend free coverage to illegal immigrants, while taking away the grandfathered protection that Christian healthcare ministries had under 1.0; and Trump’s lifelong Democrat son-in-law who now appears to be his most influential advisor.
Oy vey is right!
