That's not the worst of what she did. If she had been CONSISTENT I would agree with you. But during the pussy hat parade in January, she said abortion was MURDER. Now when she goes on The View she claims she's pro-choice and that pro-life conservatives are "hypocrities" and false Christians? WTF? Clearly she is a liar angling for a big payoff on a liberal network. she is dead to me forever. As far as Meghan McCain, I agree, she makes Toni Lahren look like Steven Hawking.
If she has most everything else right about conservatism, then I have got to assume that her stance on abortion is because she is uneducated on abortion. The abortion agenda, just like the homosexual agenda, can be dressed up so as to hide all of the gutwrenching, evil parts.
She is naive and needs to do some deep research and soul searching on this issue. She needs to have conversations with or read first hand accounts of women who were coerced into abortions as teenagers and still feel keen pain over birthdays and other milestones that will never happen. She needs to see one of those awful videos of an abortion being performed. She needs to visit a neonatal ICU and see babies who should still be in the womb, but are fighting for life in incubators, their anxious parents pacing the halls. If she has never had a baby herself, then that step might be necessary in order to stimulate her maternal instinct and drive home the fact that a fetus is exactly the same as an infant, just younger and smaller.
I won’t throw her out over it, but I do believe she is due for a realization and a change of perspective before she calls us hypocrites because we won’t choose the “freedom” of the mother over the life of the child.
That is exactly what abortion is. Once a pregnancy occurs, there are two existing people and you are choosing a dubious freedom for one and a hideous sacrifice for the other.
The foundation for what we believe is hardened by the cement that only comes with time. I don’t give this young lady much thought as I said, but knowing many young people and having discussions with them they flip-flop quite often for a myriad of reasons.
I love young people and they represent our future, but this is why I give them little thought for big issues. It is not meant as a slam, it is simply a truth that I have observed enough to label it as statistically significant. Modern media is so enamored with the youth demographic that they desperately seek pundits in that age group. It is a major target demographic for advertisers and those pay the bills.
Much of what we see in modern media is marketing over substance. Subsequently, too many of us “old farts” spend too much time here on FR debating the wisdom of marketing tools. Your thoughts are appreciated and best wishes.
This 20something is in hot water for saying she doesn’t want the govt messing with her guns or her body. Fair enough. She’s entitled to her opinion.
I would love to hear her response if someone asked her, “So you believe a woman has a right to abort at 9 months and that no one should step in and prevent her from it, since it’s her body?”

Here, let me explain the phrase "conservatism is its own asset and it sells itself." It doesn't mean conservatism doesn't need to be promoted and evangelized. . .it certainly does. . .what it doesn't need is a specialized evangelist for "women" for "youth" for WHOEVER.. .we don't "stylized" conservatism to fit the particular demographic and those that try to are usually phony-baloneys.
I think its pretty stupid to have to sit and listen to a 24 year old kid spew cliches and then have her groupies on this page tell us to back off when her inexperience and youth expose the fact that she's mostly an attractive 24 year old pretending to have wisdom beyond her years. . .when clearly she does not.
