Laptop holding Trump Tower floor plans, Hillary Clinton email investigation info stolen from Secret

A laptop computer containing floor plans for Trump Tower, information about the Hillary Clinton email investigation and other national security information was stolen from a Secret Service agent's vehicle in Brooklyn, police sources told the Daily News.

Authorities have been frantically searching for the laptop since it was stolen Thursday morning — and are trying to determine if the thief knew what he was taking or randomly targeted the agent’s vehicle.

NYPD cops were assisting in the investigation but had scant information on exactly what’s on the laptop, sources said.

"The Secret Service is very heavily involved and, citing national security, there's very little we have on our side," a police source said. "It's a very big deal.”

"There's data on there that's highly sensitive,” the source said. “They're scrambling like mad.”

The information on the laptop cannot be remotely erased, sources said.

Other items stolen include “sensitive” documents, an access keycard, coins, a black zippered bag with the Secret Service insignia on it and Secret Service lapel pins from various assignments — including ones involving Donald Trump, the Hillary Clinton campaign, the United Nations General Assembly and the Pope’s visit to New York, sources said.

There is no way to securely lock anything in an automobile. This seems to rise to criminal negligence with possible espionage implications.

Leaving a Secret Service issued laptop in a vehicle overnight should be unthinkable. I have always been much more careful with my company issued devices (not to mention my personal devices), and I have never worked in anyplace remotely as sensitive as the USSS.

Basic security practices should have avoided this incident to begin with.

Seems like the Clintons have used this ploy repeatedly over the years. . .

I know I’m a dinosaur, but when I held a Top Secret Crypto clearance in the military, absolutely NO CLASSIFIED material could be removed from the secure building in which my office was located.

Why would any sensitive information be kept on a laptop computer that is taken home?? Do agents truly need access to classified information when not on-duty?

Good grief. There are all manner of tracking tags today available for everything from car keys to a favorite pet.

Why is it that a member of the Secret Service would leave a laptop containing classified sensitive material in a car on the street?

This doesn’t pass the smell test.

Technology today should mandate that all persons with authorized sensitive material have it micro-tagged so that its location and history is recorded.

This has the markings of a lame setup with someone on the inside conspiring to make this ‘accident’ happen.

I would have the heads of all involved.

Would not surprise me if not intentional. America we have a problem.

“I hope the agent is no longer employed by SS.”

No longer employed? She should be in jail.

So many inept government workers, with laptops stolen all the time. A more basic question, why does a secret service agent (or any gov’t employee) leave an unattended laptop in their car or bajaj cycle, or worse overnight. How incredibly stupid! The SS agent should be fired on the spot for ineptness.

“Seems like the Clintons have used this ploy repeatedly over the years. . .”

Hmm. Yes. It is kind of the reverse of “oh! Look at those billing records! They just appeared on the dining room table. Wonder how that happened?”

Here it’s: “Oh! The floor plans to Trump Tower got stolen. Well, gee, I must have just forgot and left them in my motorcycle...”

Both equally unconvincing.

This is a setup inside job. NO WAY it was just a coincidence of someone B&E a car. None.

“As if anyone is sick enough to actually do anything about it”

Eh. Supporting Trump through this onslaught would count as doing something about it

Continuing to trust him would be another. Voting for him was another

My comment was regarding the ongoing surprise tge media shows with their not getting it

Maybe the Secret Service is telling the truth, and the laptop didn’t have sensitive material on it, therefore it wouldn’t need to be micro tagged.

Maybe the pins were markers showing the so-called thief that he had the right car and laptop.

Remember when state secrets were left in a room in russia.....on hillarys watch. Remember when hillary stole 800 FBI files and left them on the staircase to found by a maid in the White House. This has her MO all over it. She benefits from this. Look to the beast. There you will find answers if the FBI has the minerals to stand up to her.

This article is FULL of holes and misdirection.

I think it’s funny that a “2015 Bajaj” is a well-made Indian scooter that I wouldn’t mind owning. I know they mean “Baja” but they stopped selling those in 2006.

Mention is made that the computer can not be remotely wiped. That is a load of sh!t if I ever heard one. It can be found, it can be lojacked, it can be remotely accessed and it can be wiped. Easily.

If it was an Uber ride, they have more details then they are letting on. They know EXACTLY who it was, even if the passenger wasn’t a user. Uber is one of the greatest surveillance tools ever developed, which is why it operates well with billions in lossed dollars.

““Secret Service issued laptops contain multiple layers of security including full disk encryption and are not permitted to contain classified information.” Again total crap. All secret service computers hold classified information. All of them.

The agent’s personal car was tailed by someone ? Not a company car, obviously (Whatever a 2015 Bajaj is) and there are no leads ? No way.

What we have here is a ton of misdirection. First off, it was likely an inside job. No one knows who Secret Service agents are - The “high profile” agents are the Presidential guard. If this woman worked in finances (Which is very likely, but I don’t think Trump has female bodyguards or logicians.. Logisticians... Um, logistical people) Then her commute is very secure, her travel is very monitored and she herself is under a microscope.

This whole thing stinks of garbage.

“A Bajaj is an Indian-made motorcycle.”

A really good one too. based on the poorly protected Vespa designs, made with a steel twice as thick they are little two-wheeled tanks. The Cheetak is used throughout civilian markets and the military.

To me, one of the greatest SHTF vehicles to choose.

Also, a Subaru Baja isn’t made in 2015 or even in the 8 years preceeding it.

Psy ops? Maybe the floor plans to Trump’s apartment really lead to the trash incinerator chute?

between this and the other fiascos that the SS has had in the last few years, including the guy that jumped the fence and we now learn was at large 15 minutes before being collared, Trump needs to fire them and get his own private security ASAP.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2977686/police-officer-accidentally-fires-pistol-during-a-speech-by-french-president-francois-hollande-wounding-two/

these formerly “elite” units seem to be on the same dysfunctional trajectory across the West.
