They’re Coming For Your Children

Major cities along the East Coast may not have gotten the snowstorm meteorologists predicted this week, but every day snowflakes fly across the country on college campuses.

These delicate student loan machines melt at the prospect of their “safe spaces” being invaded by things that are perfectly normal. We’re still a few years away from these participation-ribbon recipients even coming close to sniffing the reins of power, but if and when they do, we are screwed.

I didn’t graduate college all that long ago, (December 2000, to be exact), but the culture on campuses has changed so dramatically in those years that it’s akin to when the Soviet Union fell, only in reverse.

Liberals have always lamented the fall of communism, the failure of which is ignored in their glowing affection for the island prison of Cuba. Rather than accept that their ideology simply does not work, they cling to the belief that although it may not have worked so far, that’s only because they weren’t the ones implementing it. There’s a joke about the definition of insanity in there somewhere; I’ll leave it to you to make.

Still, there is no place closer to a totalitarian police state in the United States than the college campus. Except, perhaps, public high schools.

The key to winning the future is the old tobacco company model – hook ‘em when they’re young. Young minds are easy to indoctrinate into anything through the education system because of the unique position educators hold as purveyors of important information.

Parents don’t usually send their kids to kindergarten telling them not to believe anything their teacher tells them. Nor are parents aware of every message conveyed to their children in school. Occasionally, yes, but all would be impossible unless they attended school with their child.

Even if parents were to attend occasional classes, the propaganda would be difficult to notice. That’s how indoctrination into left-wing ideology works – like Chinese water torture, one drop at a time.

This slow brainwashing was on display in Iowa this week when students from one high school apologized to another for wearing red, white and blue to a basketball game. Yes, you read that right. They apologized for wearing the colors of the American flag to a game.

Why would students from Valley High School need a mea culpa for a display of patriotism they routinely make throughout the year? Because at this particular game, they were playing Des Moines North High School, and North has some players who “are from refugee families.”

Some supporters of North were offended on behalf of those refugee families, seeing wearing the colors of our flag as, you guessed it, “racism.”

On Valley’s Facebook page, an alum named Ty Leggett wrote, “This is an example of BLATANT racism. ALL participating should have been pulled and banned from ALL VHS extracurricular events for the remainder of the year! As a parent, I’d be mortified that my son or daughter thought this way, acted in this fashion and refrained from taking a stand against this 21st century inexcusable behavior!”

One would think, or at least hope, few would appreciate the unique greatness of the United States than those who fled their homeland to it. After all, if where they were was so wonderful, they wouldn’t be here.

But they are here, and not by accident. Once here as refugees, they aren’t going anywhere. On the pathway to citizenship, it is the obligation of refugees to assimilate into the American culture the way refugees and immigrants have in the past – to become Americans themselves. That’s not how it works anymore.

North assistant coach Morgan Wheat apparently doesn’t think so, telling a local TV station, “Any normal person, any educated person can look at that and think what the hell are these kids thinking.”

I guess I’m not “normal” or “educated” because I don’t wonder what they were thinking. I know what they were thinking: They live in the greatest country in the history of the planet and are proud of that fact. What I do wonder is how someone in a position of authority can be ignorant of those facts and remain in that position.

Were this New York, I’d yawn. But this happened to Iowa – which epitomizes Middle America. If it’s like this in Iowa, it’s a problem.

Left-wing indoctrination of children has metastasized in the heartland. That should serve as a wake-up call to Americans who don’t view our nation as history’s greatest evil and thought they were insulated from coastal insanity. They’re getting to your kids too.

If the infiltration of “flyover country” doesn’t set off alarm bells that proud Americans have to take seriously the threat progressive liberal ideology presents, nothing will. One day some of the kids currently being trained to view the United States as the problem, the root of all evil in the world, will be leading it. One just has to remember the last eight years to recall how well that worked out.

They took your children 20 years ago. The progressives (Fabian Socialists) have been infiltrating the classroom for nearly 80 years. A lazy, unwillingness to organize, and push back against these people has changed the equation. It is not a fight to prevent more damage. It is a fight to take back our rights and remove these entrenched enemies of our nation.

Yep. I fully expect rampant socialism, shortages, riots, and religious persecution— all of which will be blamed on the Intolerant Right, of course. And the Snowflake Generation won’t even have the same economic excuses of the typical peasantry desperately embracing Marxism.

Fortunately, I’ll be gone. My kids will have to deal with it, but they are willfully becoming part of the problem, so it’s their mess to clean up.

You are assuming the Snowflakes will have the competence to implement their idiotic beliefs.
They might try, but the results will be like Venezuela, or, possibly, the Lebanese Civil War.

and push back against these people

Worse is that we pay for it and mindlessly pass bond after bond “for the children”.

Its a useless excercise to try to argue with any of them...they are smug and dismissive because they know no one above them will reprimand them.
If you do occasionally wind a schhol board, they will squeal like stuck pigs about how you are gutting THE EDUCATION OF YOUR CHILDREN AND THEY WILL BERING LAWSUITS.
Oh they have all of us alright...it will take a massive uprising and a take no quarter attitude to remove their poison from the schools and from our kids.

We simply do not have the will to do it. Because what it will take might involve true guts and a willingness to become hardened and maybe even violent.

I do not see that anywhere anymore.

That is actually better than what I am expecting of them.
Of course, I’ll be safely dead by then...

They’re coming for my child?

Good luck.

When he was little, he didn’t play Cops And Robbers.

He played Accountant And IRS Agents.

I’m so proud of him!

We have been on this path for eons. Some time ago Krushev (spelling?) said, “America will destroy itself from within” and he was dead on with that statement. Until/unless we “drain the swamp” at the institutes of higher learning, the places where the snow flakes are created, indeed we will be toast.

Re the headline: "they" did that decades ago while we were looking the other way!

Been going on for several decades now, under the guidance of "progressives" (regressives).

The following "Lesson" from a Co-Editor of "Our Ageless Constitution" contrasts the Founders' Ideas of Liberty" which the Founders intended should be taught to rising generations, with the Counterfeit Ideas being promoted in the so-called "public schools" of America for decades.

IDEAS OF LIBERTY:

(from America’s Founders and Presidents)

“The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them.” (Jefferson - 1774)

“Statesmen may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is Religion and Morality alone which can establish the principles upon which Freedom can securely stand.” (John Adams - 1775)

“The Sacred Rights of Mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records. They are written, as with a sunbeam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the Hand of the Divinity itself, and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.” (Alexander Hamilton)

“Without God, there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first and the most basic expression of Americanism. Thus the founding fathers saw it, and thus, with God’s help, it will continue to be.” (Dwight Eisenhower)

“The same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe, the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.” (John F. Kennedy - 1961 Inaugural)

“…it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly implore His protection and favor….”(George Washington)

“Now the virtue which had been infused into the Constitution…and was to give it…the stability and duration to which it was destined, was no other than…those abstract principles…proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence—namely, the self-evident truths of the…unalienable rights of man…the…sovereignty of the people, always subordinate to a rule of right and wrong, and always responsible to the Supreme Ruler of the universe for the rightful exercise of that sovereign…power.” (John Quincy Adams, on the occasion of The Jubilee of the Constitution - 1839)

"Today, across our nation, we see consequences of decades of gross neglect and outright censorship of the Founders’ ideas from textbooks and from our public discourse. We have allowed counterfeit ideas to dominate the public square, and the Founders’ principles have been crowded out. Unwittingly, many teachers and other unknowing officials have participated in the agenda of an unelected mind-controlling elite whose tyrannical actions have robbed generations of Americans from reading or studying the ideas that made America free. Like termites, they have eroded our foundations as effectively as if they had burned the books. Yet, not once have they been willing to call it by its rightful name—censorship. Once, in America, stifling ideas about the Creator and Creator-endowed liberty was considered unthinkable. . . .

"The ideas of liberty must be passed on from generation to generation if liberty is to survive. These ideas, when they are allowed to be examined freely, will prevail, because their appeal is to reason and to the love for liberty that is deep in the human heart. John Adams warned: “The people of America now have the best opportunity and the greatest trust in their hands, that Providence ever committed to so small a number…if they betray their trust, their guilt will merit even greater punishment than other nations have suffered, and the indignation of Heaven.”

COUNTERFEIT IDEAS:

(from some of those whose views have dominated national educational policy)

“The idea of God is the keystone of a perverted society. The true root of liberty, equality and culture is atheism.” (Karl Marx)

Our thinking is enlightened “in the degree in which we cease to depend upon belief in the supernatural.” (John Dewey, father of ‘progressive education’ and 1st President of American Humanist Society)

“…democracy is a human faith and movement, unencumbered by supernatural preconceptions.” (John Childs, a protégé of John Dewey at Columbia)

“…the majority of our youth still hold the values of their parents, and if we do not alter this pattern, if we do not resocialize ourselves to accept change, our society may decay.” (John Goodlad, 1971 Report to President, Schooling for the Future)

“As in 1933, humanists still believe that traditional theism, especially a faith in the prayer-hearing God, who is assumed to love and care for persons, to hear and understand their prayers, and be able to do something about them, is an unproved and outmoded faith.” (Humanist Manifesto II, 1973)

“…the most important factor moving us toward a secular society has been the educational factor. Our schools may not teach Johnny to read properly, but the fact that Johnny is in school until he is sixteen tends to lead toward elimination of religious superstition.” (Paul Blanshard, The Humanist, March-April, 1976)

“It [the Nat’l. Education Association’s publication list] includes the delegitimizing of all authority save that of the state, the degradation of traditional morality and the encouragement of citizens in general and children in particular to despise the rules and customs that make their society a functional democracy. The NEA is drifting into exceedingly dangerous waters, and probably carrying more than a few teachers and pupils with it.” (Chester E. Finn, Jr., Ass’t. Sec. Of Education & Prof. Of Education & Public Policy, Vanderbilt Univ., 1982)

--------------

“Now, my countrymen, if you have been taught doctrines which conflict with the great landmarks of the Declaration of Independence…let me entreat you to come back. Return to the fountains whose waters spring close to the blood of the Revolution.” (Abraham Lincoln)

"Progresssive" ideology has brought such nonsense upon us.

Beginning in the late 1800's, those who self-described as "liberals" (more recently, identifying themselves as "progressive") called for "changes" which have been, in fact, regressive, in that they have carried America back to Old World ideas which limit freedom, opportunity, creativity, and plenty--just as they did in 1776.

I recall Nikita said it like this: “WE will bury you and we will never have to fire a shot.” Yes, the huge propaganda efforts by the Soviets and their scions and true believers around the world were not by accident and continue until this very day.
