Reminds me of the scene in Cabaret when the young Nazi is singing in the beer garden. Only a few people realize the horror that is about to engulf Germany and some intellectuals actually think they can control the young Brown Shirts.

Tomorrow belongs to me Cabaret

Of course, the brilliant minds we have in charge KNOW they can handle it direct their anger, moderate it. But we know better. Once the genie is out of the bottle there’s no controlling it. The only winning move is to not let it out of the bottle.

My grandfather didn’t think anything could happen to him in a civilized country like Germany, when he owned a factory and many shops. Until on Kristallnacht when the thugs entered his home and dragged him out in front of his wife and little boys (my dad was 7) and threw hm into Buchenwald.

So I’ve never believed for one second that it couldn’t happen here. It could. It depends on us.

That scene from Cabaret gives me chills. Very well done.
