D.C. Restaurant Sues Trump for Unfair Competition

Looks like President Trump might have another lawsuit on his hands. According to NPR, two restaurateurs in Washington, DC have sued the president and the Trump Old Post Office LLC, in a lawsuit filed in D.C. Superior Court for “unfair competition under local law.” The restaurateurs, Khalid Pitts and Diane Gross, who own Cork Wine Bar and Cork Market & Tasting Room, argue that it’s near impossible to compete with a “restaurant at President Donald Trump’s hotel down the road from the White House.”

As of right now the plaintiffs, who are represented by “business and government watchdog attorneys who say they are working for free,” aren’t seeking monetary damages. Rather, they would like the president to “remedy the unfair competition.” How? For starters they want him to resign and divest himself from the hotel, or close it down completely during the duration of his presidency.

So far there is no evidence that the accusations are politically motivated. However, Pitts has a history of being politically active and even ran as an independent for a seat on the D.C. Council back in 2014. Before that race, he was registered as a Democrat, and “did work for the Service Employees International Union.” Gross, on the other hand, is a lawyer who worked for “former Sen. Barbara Mikulski, a Maryland Democrat,” between 2003 and 2005.

Go pound sand, losers. If you can’t take the heat, close up your kitchen.

A couple of Yelp reviews from last week...

"The food taste like hot garbage, the servers were smug, and inaccurate. The place is just a super cliche, cookie cutter wine bar. To top it all off, the wine selection was crap."

---------

"Our wine was indeed corked. It smelled like nail polish remover and had horrible taste. My stomach still feels sour and upset (food combo?) Literally took 2 sips but received shrugged shoulders, smirk and bad attitude because we complained. Interesting approach of no apology and poor/inattentive service after that. It was not your fault but also not our fault that the wine was funky. Remember too that you work for tips. We usually tip 30% but gave half and feel that was very generous given the circumstances.

Once before the wine was not fresh but we tolerated it. Life is too short for bad wine and bad attitudes. Do not want to drink something that smells like a wet dog, acetone or damp musty basement!

SO wish We had read the many 1 star reviews for Cork Wine Bar from the past few yearS that are not currently recommended below all the Yelp reviews. IF we had read how rude the Manager and Owners are to Customers who give them money in exchange for great wine, food and experience, we would have gone to any other place on 14th!

Nasty owner replies after poor service and experience would have kept us from wasting time, money and experience of night out with this Business that does not care about Customers or loyalty of locals

We will not return. There are many other choices in the area."

Half the country dislikes Trump. That’s a pretty good market share. And of the ones who do like him, but can’t afford his restaurant, or can’t get in, that’s another pretty good market share if you don’t alienate them by suing Trump.

Really? Then why else would the attorneys be working for free?

They can close their Business’s if they aren’t making any Money, then they can apply for Jobs at Trump’s Hotel.

If Trump shows up they might get a big Tip from him when they are clearing the Table.

Oh, whine.

This only goes to prove that just about anybody can sue anybody else about just about anything.

One must take care, however, trying to take any of the Trump enterprises to court, as this has proven to be terribly expensive in the end, or not to end well for the plaintiffs, sometimes both all at once.

Trump does not land the first blow. But his counter-punch is known to make death seem a pleasant release.

In other words, these two leftist losers are professional agitators who have flunked out in the restaurant and bar business and have been told they can only succeed if they shut the competition down by litigation. They can’t make it in the free market on their own merits.

You can sue anyone. Doesn’t mean you are going to win.

What is the reason they think they should win this one? I can’t see there is one.
