New Ferguson video casting doubt on 'robbery' sparks protests

A newly disclosed surveillance video from the hours before the killing of a black man in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014 has triggered fresh protests. A filmmaker has released the footage which he says shows Michael Brown did not rob a shop, as police claimed, but instead exchanged marijuana for cigars. He says it contradicts video released by police showing Brown threatening the shopkeeper as he walks out with cigars. The 18-year-old was shot dead by a police officer moments later. However, the convenience store maintains it was a robbery.

Policeman Darren Wilson was cleared of wrongdoing by investigators but the teenager's death led to violent protests and a national debate about lethal police force against African Americans. On Sunday night, 100 people gathered outside the shop after news emerged of the new video. On Monday, one St Louis man was charged with trying to set fire to a police car. Henry Stokes, 44, was arrested by police after he was seen placing a napkin in the gas tank of a police car and trying to use a cigarette lighter to set fire to it.

The previously unreported footage shows Brown entering the Ferguson Market and Liquor around 01:00 on the day of his death. He approaches the counter and hands over an item that appears to be a brown bag, and in exchange takes a shopping bag filled with cigars. After walking towards the door, he then turns around and returns the cigars to the counter before leaving.

Jason Pollock, the filmmaker releasing the tape as part of his documentary Stranger Fruit, says it proves that Brown had not been committing a robbery when he returned to that store around noon later in the day.

Wasn’t Jason Pollock involved in that Obama admin/Valery Jarret effort to turn the NEA into the administration’s means of selling Obamacare?

>I think it’s more if they (the police) lied about the robbery, what else did they lie about?

>Now the protesters can legitimately question the official story of the confrontation between Officer Wilson and Brown.

They didn’t lie. The video in question was shown to the grand jury.

I think it's more if they (the police) lied about the robbery, what else did they lie about?

That would mean the cops and the store owner are lying about the robbery. No sale.

What liquor store? I thought it was a convenient store.

It was a liquor store but I think the media pushed the "convenience store" angle to reinforce the gentle giant child image they were wanting...otherwise people might ask the obvious question: "Why was this sweet baby boy in a liquor store?"

Even if this 1:00 am transaction occurred exactly as described by the film maker, the interaction with the store owner at noon was still a strongarm robbery. Full stop.

A prior criminal act -— selling illegal drugs on the part of mike brown, and theft on the part of the employee by exchanging his employer’s property for said drugs -— cannot excuse Mike Brown’s subsequent return and forcible taking of the store owner’s property.

And for what it’s worth, it’s the use of force that changed a simple misdemeanor theft (”stealing” in MO penal code) into the felony robbery. Mike Brown was a felon, and a thug. Nothing is going to change that.

And the truth won’t change the media and protester narrative.

Right---he was just wrapping up the bookkeeping on an illegal drug deal soooo technically, he didn't "steal" the cigarillos.

The "filmmaker" was one of the rudest people I have ever seen on tv. I would have cut his mike off. Anything OTHER THAN acknowledging that Michael C. Brown was killed with one fatal shot, from the front, at the officer's last possible moment of intervention, is a lie.

The tragedy of Michael C. Brown's life happened long before the day he died.

The BBC. If a story is anti-American, whether it is true or not, they will always promote it.

Britain’s Best Communist network.

Ferguson Market and Liquor Store

Where I have lived we had convenient stores and liquor stores - not combinations.

This filmmaker and the Muzzie who chased Betsy DeVos and blocked her vehicle both have one thing in common: THEY ARE TRAINED BY TEAM SOROS TO STIR UP TROUBLE.. The filmmaker's orders are to get the blacks all riled up again. Why would a film like this even be made? For the purpose of RE-IGNITING BLM AND THEIR NASTY RIOTS, THAT'S WHY.

This chit ain't gonna stop for as long as Trump is in office. This is an all-out assault funded by Soros/0dunga/Hillary/etc..

So when the big fat bully intimidated the store owner by getting into the store owner's space, the big fat bully was really communicating, “I love you bro”?

“Did the incident/s at the store even come up in the investigation or the trial? It was entirely unrelated to what happened on the street leading to his shooting.”

It did come up in the investigation but was deemed irrelevant and inadmissible for trial.

This “filmmaker” is a loon. The complete footage was shown on MacCallum’s FOX show yesterday. Brown DID try to barter some pot for store merchandise. He was rebuffed. He returned later and stole what they would not trade earlier.

“It was also shown to the grand jury”

Bob McCulloch said it was not shown as it was immaterial.

The DA said on Fox that it was not shown to the GJ because it was immaterial and irrelevant and could not have been used in the trial. It has, however, been totally available to see as it was with the idiot, psycho, Michael Moore protege who made this so called documentary.
