White House Back-Pedals on Claim Obama Wiretapped Trump’s Phones Sean Spicer says president used word ‘wiretapped’ in quotes to mean surveillance. By Ted Mann March 13, 2017.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Monday back-pedaled on President Donald Trump’s claims that his phone line was ordered tapped by then-President Barack Obama, an allegation of illegality that Mr. Trump recently made on Twitter without providing any evidence. In an animated question-and-answer session with reporters during his regular briefing, Mr. Spicer suggested Mr. Trump had been speaking broadly when he posted

I really hope Trump is sand bagging these bastards. If he can produce some concrete evidence he was spied on MSM is going to look like a-holes
Including the back stabbing traitor Juan.

IMHO, there is at least a 99 44/100 percent chance that Trump’s communications were being wiretapped and that his premises were being surveilled, and probably bugged, by at least one government agency.

He might not be able to throw a dozen bugs and microphones on the table as proof but that is because the equipment and techniques of today are much more sophisticated than that.

After the corruption we have witnessed the 8 years of Obama and the lies, leaks and sedition we have witnessed the first two months of President Trump’s administration why would anyone trust the federal governments word on anything?

How many people use the expression “dial the phone”? How many actually still use dial phones?

How many people refer to making a video as “filming”, and refer to the video as “footage”?

The technology advances, but the terminology doesn’t always keep up.

The term “wire fraud” is also used somewhat broadly too. It can mean a lot of things.

It is obvious that President Trump’s source is the New York Times very true and secret sourced article of Jan. 20, 2017. Are the Democrats suddenly saying that the NY Times is NOT a Credible source? Shame on them.

NO! The PRESIDENT said he was WIRETAPPED. He must now show proof that somebody was in the basement of Trump Tower with alligator clips on Trump's private line, connected to a tape recorder.

It doesn't matter if the NSA has transcripts of his conversations with foreign dignitaries. If Trump CANNOT produce this SPECIFIC proof, then it is clear that he LIED.

” Why The Wall Street Journal is cutting print sections and refocusing on its core coverage

Editor-in-chief Gerard Baker says the paper, which confronted a 21 percent decrease in advertising revenue in the most recent quarter, is trying to attract subscribers.”

Layoffs hit The Wall Street Journal

By Benjamin Mullin • November 2, 2016

America’s business newspaper of record is cutting its staff today, part of an effort to streamline its newsroom during an industry-wide print advertising slump.

On the chopping block is The Journal’s Greater New York section, which is being folded into the paper’s broader coverage of New York.

Staffers on the Greater New York section were notified of the layoffs in an announcement from Wall Street Journal Editor-in-Chief Gerry Baker, according to a memo from the Independent Association of Publishers’ Employees, the union representing Wall Street Journal workers. They were then summoned to meet with department heads.

Spicer also walked back that it was Obama directly. Yet Trump's tweet read....How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!

Who else did he mean?

Too bad the MSM was not as selective about literal meanings, when they carried (still, probably) the whole story about Russia “hacked” our election. “Hacked” was given any meaning desired to make their point. But apparently “wire-tapped” can only mean, literally, “wire-tapped”. It figures.

It’s the MO of the Media Morons to take a phrase out of context and add it to their propaganda stew.

Wiretap is not the correct ‘tech’ word but as a colloquial term it reaches the population who ‘get it’.

But as the investigation is still ongoing, the Media Morons are coming out their corners to write in the direction that Obama did not ‘spy’ on Candidate Trump, writing this as a trial balloon in an attempt to score points with their moron readership.

Who else did he mean?

Loretta Lynch. All FISA warrant requests are signed by the attorney general. Does anyone think she would have done that without the knowledge and consent of Barack Sheik Obama?

Backtrack? Everyone knows Trump was using “wiretap” as the catch all for “surveillance.”

The media is a joke.

“Wire tapped” = electronic surveillance.

This isn't the 1970’s. The advent of the Internet, along with its intertwining of voice, data, and video information, makes it so much easier to eavesdrop on unsuspecting marks.

It also makes it much harder for the eavesdropper to cover their tracks.

Wrong, it’s the NY Slimes that back-peddled on their front page wiretapping claim.

Agreed. There are far too many barf articles on FR — so many that FR is beginning to look like a leftist site. Most of the comments on these articles are useless — little more than booing, venting, and sometimes foul language.

I personally assumed that “wiretap” meant surveillance of all types. It is not backpedaling. And I did not think that he meant that Obama personally slipped into Trump tower to do it. That would require ability that Obama certainly does not have, on many levels.

Reminds me of how the MSM likes to claim that Trump praised Putin. No, he merely said that Putin was a more effective leader of Russia than Obama was for the United States. That is not praise, that is merely stating an obvious truth.
