The socialist government of Venezuela is reportedly struggling to meet the demands of its citizenry in obtaining passports, both to flee the country and to replace their expired passports abroad.
The demand has led some officials to demand bribes in order to expedite the process, despite the debut of a new online system the government promised would issue passports with a 72-hour turnaround time.

Just require a visa for visitors from Venezuela.

Venezuelans require a visa to enter the U.S. The only countries whose citizens do not require a visa are Canada and Bermuda. Visas are routinely waived for people from 38 other countries, including most of Western Europe, the Baltic republics, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
Flee? You are a shirker and traitor to the glorious Chavezista revolution. No passport for you!
Then there’s my Plan B: Bombard them from the air with cup o’ noodles. That will get them to overthrow the government. Cubans will follow.

Add travelers with Venezuelan passports traveling from any Middle East country to the ban.
