Of course not.. CEOs are clearly more favored than working class taxpayers.. and much more to come. How much in tax breaks and over what span of time for Carrier, Sprint... all the CEO Christmas presents? With a Trillion dollar stimulus in the wings, who do you think benefits from that cash infusion? I doubt it is taxpayers.

There are more cards to play here. Border taxes could easily apply to H1B, shifting the dynamic.

In fact if I had Trump’s ear, I’d put a strong hint in it about that.

The American pie should ultimately have first dibs by the American worker. Trump seems to be about incentives except in true emergency cases like shutting out terrorists (since there is no incentive in the world, short of shooting them on arrival, that would stop them otherwise). That’s more of the free market way.

Companies went to H1B because that was an escape valve for a dysfunctional tax and regulation structure that exalted nanny state uber alles.

It stinks that this should happen, but let’s fix the need for having an escape valve before we talk about other things. I can vouch that H1B has both downs and ups. These folks don’t have as much skin in the American game as Americans do, for starters. Their visa-dependent statuses are a temptation for firms to create sharp dealing policies towards them (as I found out as an American caught in this maelstrom).
