I’d like to hear Rush tell the story of him and his brother phone pranking television department store clerks about being able to see them through the TVs by re-orienting the crystals in the tube into a camera lens.
Damn, maybe Alex Jones is not that crazy.
Bring it on you government spy weenies.
I dare you to spy on me!
Let’s see if you’ve got the guts to watch some old guy sitting in his underwear in his recliner eating yogurt and watching SpongeBob!
Not such a glamorous job anymore, huh?
And you don’t think your LAPTOP, with a built in camera and microphone can’t be hacked to spy on you?
Orwell must have been a time traveler.
“All 3 of them are smart TVs?”
Yes! Samsung is one of the best TV’s on the market. We never use the “smart” feature, but they can connect to the Internet ( in the same manner as a computer) and they have a keyboard that comes with them that makes them like an iPad in that you can get access to the Internet, and the various other things like Netflix, plus you can send and receive e-mails. I’ve just taken out the Internet access on them so no one can get to them via the Internet, or so I’m hoping!
That is lucky Goldstar. And the LG in lucky Goldstar is the LG that we know today as the LG company
“James, what did you double-o do today?”
“Well, Moneypenny, I watched some old guy sitting in his recliner in his underwear eating yogurt and watching SpongeBob.”
“I wonder if they’ll write a book about that, The Spy Who Threw Up.”
So Hussien DOES know how I feel about him? Good!
Yeah but they rebranded it as Life’s Good. At least that is the first thing that shows when I turn it on.
1) Short length of electrical tape placed over the camera’s lens.
2) Walkman headset plugged into a radio tuned to NPR 24/7 clamped around the onboard mic.
Problem.....solution.
yeah, it took a piece of tape to cover
any other stupid comments?
Also, when did adding MORE ways to infiltrate you help?
such a simple naive answer you gave
And also why since you may need to have your new TV hooked up to the internet to use things like Netflix... you should open that TV up and unplug or cut the wires to the on-board webcam and mic.
We have no way of knowing what the firmware in the TV is doing or who it is sending data to. We also have no way of knowing how secure it is to 3rd parties hijacking the devices in the TV like the webcam, mic or stored user data. Without having any control over those factors we should always err on the side of having those devices physically disabled.
(They shouldn’t be there in the first place)
