This is an honest question:
If they found a mountain of smoking gun evidence,
do you honestly think the “attachment-less” Republican quislings in Congress would follow through with it?
My belief - hell no.
In a way it almost makes the whole exercise pointless!

“FBI director James Comey asked the Department of Justice to disavow Trump’s claims that Obama ordered a wiretap, according to a New York Times report.”
This from a single NYT report as near as I can tell. Who knows if it is true or not? I will say one thing the NYT has got a lot of mileage from that story.

Where does that email investigation stand today?

he was to busy helping HSBC launder drug money. Loretta lynch prosecuted him/HSBC and let them off with a fine equal to 5 days profits. Then she becomes AG and he runs the FBI. Criminals all.

My belief - hell no. In a way it almost makes the whole exercise pointless! Why is Congress needed to prosecute any of these crimes? What matters is the Department of Justice, which is now in the hands of the good guys.

In that scenario, irony prevails as team Trump feeds all that misinformation to her campaign and they get hoisted by their own petards.

Comey is playing both sides of the street on any given day. I think he’s gone by May.

If Comey knew the Department of Justice
could disavow Trump's claim then that would be a big negative for Trump and himself.
But, if Comey knew the Department of Justice couldn't disavow Trump's claim then that would be a big positive for Trump and in turn for himself.
Gosh, which is it? I'm guessing the stronger probability is the latter.

I think the President is feeding Comey the rope and Comey threw it over the tree branch. I would think that President Trump is playing at a much higher level than Comey. President Trump probably doesn't give a rip what Comey is doing. The fact that Comey is putting himself in a tough position over this matter is solely on Comey and no one else.

Comey has been successfully playing that dangerous game for quite a while. Skillful apparently he is.

He’s actually pure #1, but departments - and some states - are set up such that the deputy runs the table while the Director mans the microphones.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly says President Trump possesses credible evidence that former President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of Trump Tower in New York City last year.
Thanks, philman_36.
