It's what cops do. Maybe 10-15 % on the take, or love abusing. Could be greater, no real way to know.

The rest - all of them - cover for them or remain silent. There is no honor code in law enforcement.

They really need to organize cops into 5-10 person units. If one of the unit goes rogue, the whole unit goes down.

It’s hard to know how many cops are bad or which ones they are. I am betting their fellow officers know or at least suspect. I would like to think that they have enough pride in their profession and in themselves that they would not allow this. Maybe there is fear of retribution for whistleblowers. Or maybe it’s worse than that. Maybe the bigger corruption is further up the chain and protects the bad cops.

I had 2 cops in my family, and one from the younger generation is going into LE. So I definitely support cops. Just not the rotten apples among them.
