The state Senates Democratic leaders blew it badly Thursday when they forcibly prevented Republican Sen. Janet Nguyen, a refugee from Vietnam, from criticizing the late Tom Hayden.
Earlier in the week, senators took turns lionizing Hayden, who served in the Senate, as a visionary progressive.
Nguyen purposely waited two days before arising to present, first in Vietnamese and then in English, an alternative view of Haydens leadership of the antiwar movement in the 1960s and 1970s.
Hayden not only opposed the Vietnam War as wrongheaded a position shared by millions of Americans but, with his then-wife, actress Jane Fonda, openly supported a military victory by communist North Vietnam as it tried to take over South Vietnam.

Just glad the Dems once again reminded everyone of the traitorous pieces of you-know-what they really are.
Hayden...
Didn’t know he was sick.
At heart every Dem is a totalitarian thug.

Nguyen, like many immigrants, have bought into the “your party is the Democrats” nonsense, which so many seem to hold.
She belongs in the Republican party.
She should talk with Donald Trump, about switching party affiliation.
I used to live in her area. Dems are not about the Vietnamese. They are about the illegals.
Dems are the party of illegal immigration. Bigtime.
Ms. Nguyen spoke her mind, but she is in the wrong political party, in my opinion.
Her speech was right on but, “A Point of Order” was called and she continued, with predictable results.
Good woman.
Scratch a democrat you’ll find a communist trying to get out. Witness traitor Fonda helping communists shoot down American pilots.
She had article that I posted today, but closed for comment. Her comments were right on.

A Point of Order was called
“Point of order was called” translated: they said “shut up or we’ll have you thrown out” Calling censorship a “point of order” doesn’t make it any less censorship.
Scratch a liberal, find a fascist.

She already is a Republican.
She belongs in the Republican party.
She IS a Republican. Think they would have thrown a Democrat out of the chamber?
She is a Republican.
Oh.
Thanks. :D
a courageous woman. she could have run as a Democrat - her district has more democrats than GOP if I understand correctly - but she ran as a Republican. She deserves a LOT more national attention than she’s getting. See any stories on CNN, ABC, NBC or even Fox? Maybe they’ve been run, but i missed.
yefragetuwrabrumuy posted a nice photo of her and family in that other posting I mentioned.
Boy. That thread sure went downhill fast, thanks to one FReeper.

Rats lose any purported moral high ground on the Liawathia Sessions incident. Hypocrites.
F Hayden.
