(snip) Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist released a statement on her Facebook page Thursday.
It says, in part, that they "honor the dignity and equality of their transgender and gender non-conforming students."

Every family has a place at Tulsa Public Schools. We are an inclusive and affirming community of learners who value and celebrate diversity in all of its forms, including race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender identity, and gender expression. Our diversity is a community treasure that enriches teaching, learning, and working experiences in our district.
We know that our community members have questions, concerns, and fears around recent changes to federal policie... See More 491

Just how many Tulsa students are ‘transgendered’?
Translation: We demand that Muslims girls share a bathroom with men.
That’s fine if they want to do it. As long as there is not a law requiring it and parents are free to choose another school for their child.
Hope they post the video. Should be good.
The upside is, the local government now owns it, not some amorphous federal regulation that is hard to target.
Accountability starts at the local level.
Good for them and now begins the process of voting with your feet...you don’t like it in Tulsa - you move!
Transgender; For when being queer just doesn’t get you enough attention,
Maybe one or two? Tulsa Pubic Schools have been destroyed. The system is now mostly hispanic and black, or “freak”, as normal, mentally and financially stable, Christian, and Jewish white parents (who aren’t meth heads, or poor) have fled to the suburbs, and/or private schools. The demographics are easy to access online. The funny thing? Oklahoma screams and whines and cries that we can’t pay teachers, and we can’t support our students, and our schools are failing. They never, not one time, look at WHY that is? We don’t want to help anymore. We have one of the highest, if not THE highest sales tax in the nation (because our county/city taxes are more than our state taxes). Our property taxes are pretty high, too. Oklahoma income tax has been reduced for all the corporations and rich people, and because we house a gazillion illegals, we are drowning. Tulsa schools are a failure, and THIS is the hill they want to die on?
That comment made me laugh. Thank you, because I needed a laugh this morning.!
The Muslims in Tulsa send their kids to the suburbs, private schools, or Catholic school; most of them, anyway.
If the adults are worried about kids bullying transgender kids, why not let the transgender kids use staff bathrooms...?
Unless, of course, the district is worried that it has a predator or more on the payroll....
The Constitution does not prohibit stupidity.
Normal kids don’t bully transgenders. They just don’t. The whole “transgenders being bullied” is a lie. We are at the point where our children are being brainwashed into believing that changing genders is COOL!!! There is still a sizeable female minority that doesn’t want to see a penis at their slumber party, but they are ostracized if they say so.
Parents can choose another school if they have the means. In Tulsa, a lot of the white children live with poor single mothers. They don’t have a way out. Most of the children in Tulsa are born to single mothers, because that is “so cool”. It’s like having a pet or something.
When my husband and I married, we had to live in this little apartment in a bad part of Tulsa (we didn’t have mama and daddy helping us). That first year, we lived on oatmeal and fried potatoes. Entirely. By the end of the first year, we had enough put back to buy a little house in the suburbs, where our newborn baby could be safe. We never allowed our children to be in Tulsa schools.
Good one!
Oh, now it’s “gender non-conforming” is it?
Hmmm...I wonder if that’s the reason for the growth in “transgender” bunk. Gay men are no longer maudlin victims! They’re celebrated! So on to poor men being ostracized for wearing dresses, brassieres and bad wigs...
If you’re a transgender, is it biologically impossible to have male pattern baldness? Is that sexist?
Kids get bullied. And used to be, schools were empowered to deal with the bullies. Not anymore. So IF there IS a prob, and the school can’t/won’t expell it, let the bullied kid/s use staff bathrooms. To my mind, that is the best solution.
