Being a conservative, this will sound very odd.
I produced and sang all of the song parodies that Alan used on his shows for several years. From The Clintstones, Haiti is a Trap, Jeff Dahmers Lunch, and all of the ones I produced, he was a lot of fun to work with and always very bright. He was a broadcaster first and a liberal second.
Even though I disagreed with 80% of what he said, his shows were always entertaining. I will miss sharing our shared love of political humor and song parodies. So many wondered how I could do those songs from a dyed in the wool liberal, and how a liberal could play something done by a rock-ribbed conservative. But it worked.
Alan was the last voice to be heard on 66 WNBC in New York on the day of The Big Switcheroo when half a dozen stations were sold and the entire market snapshot changed.
Rest well, Alan. The great beyond is a bit funnier today.
Yes...I don’t understand how he was able to maintain the things he believed in the face of mountain of evidence to the contrary.
Mark 8:36-37
Id trade him for Beckel any day.
yep...there are very few people for whom I wouldn’t trade Beckel; he is the essence of a lout...
Rest well, Alan. The great beyond is a bit funnier today.
well said...
