This “fight” might have been a tempest in a thimble for all we know... a quibble about implementation or something on that order. I can’t believe DeVos thinks the current policy is wise.
....................................
Probably just another hit piece against deVos by the left wing Teacher’s Union so dead set against her.

"The prime job of an executive is to resolve conflicts."

I thought the PRIME job of the executive was to establish policy. Resolving conflicts over those policies is simply part of that.

Patriots are reminded that the only sex related right that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect, evidenced by the 19th Amendment, deals only with voting issues. So the feds have the constitutional authority to “fix” sex-related issues only in the context of voting rights imo.

Noting that I gladly voted for Trump, misguided, constitutionally low-information Trump Administration officials, including Trump, are ultimately wasting their precious time with this issue imo.

They’ve got bigger fish to fry.

Also note that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to deal with INTRAstate schooling issues. So I question why the Education Department exists.

“According to a draft of the letter, which was obtained by The New York Times (after we made up everything in it and then wrote it)...”

Close down the DOE. Keep ALL education matters at state and local level; ALL education matters.

We believe that there are no minds on education in Washington, DC that can match what we have in the Indiana State Legislature.

Further, I get actually personal responses, not canned letters, from my Indiana Legislative representatives. I know from their responses that our letters are read for detail and every reasonable attempt is made to answer my questions. STATE GOVERNMENT IS CLOSER TO THE PEOPLE.

Get the Federal government completely out of education. Close down the DOE. End any potential disputes by not having an education secretary.

Funny that they’d characterize her as NOT wanting to roll back the previous policy.

Actually, I can believe this. DeVoss has a checkered history on all things “gay,” and actually sided with the homosexual agenda on more than one occasion.

Frankly,I’m looking forward to the demise of the Fed.Education which is unconstitutional.

Perhaps it will happen. It’s a questionable mission creep at the best. It’s also inefficient. Be that as it may, Donald Trump is the 500 ton elephant in the room now, and if he wants to go with something that is only quasi-constitutional (as seen by original treatment, not our new court trends), that is what is going to happen. I anticipate a robust push back towards states, however. The Federal centered model is so infinitely abusable.

If true, DeVos is about to either be unseated or ungayed...

I read a book called From Time to Time where a guy travels back to the late 1880s and falls in love. Great book, other than the last chapter. Anyway, I think the Times was decent in that story. It hasn’t been fit to wrap a fish since I was born.

The entire “gay” scene is, of course, an abomination.

But understanding something about how it works is, I believe, key to being able to set the scene right. One approach to it is the “Reparative Therapy” that Mike Pence believes in. I think at some point we are going to have to take the Frankensteined animal apart right in front of the public. Here’s what’s happening and here’s why, and here’s what fixes it. In a very heavily theistic, spiritual model. I believe it could be done. The details are so odious at points that it takes immense self control not to say “damn it all.” But that kind of self control has to happen, in order to get to the goal of a healing. The cross of Christ is (perhaps by divine pun) crucial.

THe end of Common Core will be the most welcome followed by anti-American teachers being fired.
