Very sad to see this news story about the desecration of a St. Louis Jewish cemetery. This cemetery dates back to 1893 in the St. Louis suburb of University City. Chesed Shel Emeth cemetery vandalized sometime Sunday evening with over 100 headstones being destroyed or damaged.
All of us can do a little bit to help restore the cemetery show America that the conservative Americans who voted for Trump do not stand for this type of of despicable hate crime / action against a Jewish cemetery.

So true. You don’t need to look any further than the Democrat Party as the true home of anti-Israel sentiment and anti-Semitism in this country.
In an era where we call bigotry and Racism, “Hate Crime” no other such hate crime plays out like good old fashioned Antisemitism.
In an amazing process, hatred against Jews defies all the normal bounds of hatred. It is not enough that Jews are the targets of hatred for some 5,000 years now but more so for the last 2,000 years and have had all possible forms of violence brought against them, that even after they die, their graves are desecrated.
No other group is hounded even after dying and being buried!
Sad, I don’t get it, I once drove by a Jewish cemetery and the entrances around the gates were egged. Beyond my understanding. Some years ago.
Has the St. Louis Post-Dispatch blamed it on Trump yet?
God gave the Jewish people the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, a blueprint for an upright life conducted in the image of God. Non-Jews are required to fulfill the seven Noahide Laws.
Those who balk at God’s commandments see the Jews as God’s representatives on this earth. Anti-Semitism is anti-God.
Overturning gravestones in a cemetery is a deep spiritual sickness that brings its perpetrators to utter spiritual ruin. No matter what other punishment these perpetrators get, they should get not only a long jail sentence, but the job of cleaning the grounds of this cemetery under direct supervision - six months of grounds service for each gravestone overturned. This should become a requirement of their parole for the rest of their natural lives. They must also be made to meet and apologize to each and every one of the surviving families whose relatives’ graves they attacked. They must also write an essay about the life of each and every one of the people whose stones they overturned.
No but people on Facebook & Twitter already have done that.
I don’t know the area. I’m willing to guess that this kind of thing usually involves local talent. What are the surrounding neighborhoods like?
Has the St. Louis Post-Dispatch blamed it on Trump yet?
Not yet.
This is the type of heros and people who are buried in this cemetery.
Below is an example of a World War II pilot that was shot down over Germany. And when they found out he was Jewish they executed him.

Death: Nov. 6, 1944, Germany
The brass plaque to the right was purchased by the family to memorialize Lieut Wolfson following his death. It appears on the Wall of Memory at United Hebrew Congregation, Chesterfield, Missouri. Wolfson’s name is read aloud in memory once each year on the anniversary of his death. It is a perpetual memory of his life and death.
2LT, 335 AAF BOMB SQ, 95 BOMB GP WORLD WAR II
He served as a Co-Pilot and his aircraft was hit over a target in the Kaiserslautern, Germany area. During the flight back all crewmembers but the pilot and navigator bailed out. Lt. Wolfson landed in a wooden area about 12 kilometers southwest of Kaiserslautern. He was taken prisoner by members of the Kaiserslautern police. They turned him over to a group of German soldiers. Shortly thereafter he was shot to death by a German National. His body was buried in the Kaiserslautern cemetery. Lt. Wolfson was the veteran of many missions and had received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with several clusters and the Presidential Unit Citation, and awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.

“Stanford’s remains were exhumed in 1949 from the Kaiserlautern, Germany Cemetery and returned to the United States. His remains were buried in the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, University City, MO on February 27, 1949. We are certain about his return since the cemetery records confirm that his remains were placed in a below-ground, sealed concrete vault that is standard for most conservative Jewish burials. Other members of Lt. Wolfson’s family would later be buried nearby in this Wolfson family plot.”

As an adult on Memorial Day I would take my little kids to local cemeteries and we would clean and trim the grass around stranger's headstones. Find which was the oldest, which had fought, which had died in wars, etc. Always interesting the history that one could deduce - a bunch of young kids dieing around the same time meant some bad flu or something, etc.
Cemeteries do tell stories. It’s an acquired taste, but I do enjoy tours of historic cemeteries with a guide who knows his stuff.
