"They get started by suppressing free press, in other words, a consolidation of power -- when you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press," McCain said. "And I'm not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I'm just saying we need to learn the lessons of history."

This sounds about as sincere as Mark Antony's refrain "...but Brutus in an honorable man." McCain is doing more to undermine Trump's Presidency and to besmirch the President than any other Republican, and he knows it.

The only thing I'm not certain about is whether McCain's hysteria towards Trump and thinly veiled accusations of "dictatorship" are sincere (in which case McCain is a delusional idiot), or just a calculated affectation to curry favor with NeverTrump Republicans and with liberals. I think the latter - it's no accident that except when he ran against Obama in 2008, John McCain has long been every liberal's favorite Republican.

Well by all means, the press is free to report on the Keating Five.

The Democrats have controlled the press for the last 40 years. So there is no longer any free press in the US, John

What’s this about McCain needing a pardon for treason from Richard Nixon? Apparently he made tapes helping the enemy while a PoW.

McCain is an idiot. This is not suppression. This is not censorship. It is criticism. Period.

Has Trump jailed any reporters?
Has he stopped the publication of the afternoon edition?
Has he sent the Army in to seize any newsrooms?

Didn’t think so.

Dictators get started by help from a biased press

What’s the difference, McLame?

You SOB if anyone should be against the #FakeNews bunch, it should be you. The kid gloves treatment given your opponent and the unduly harsh treatment of Sarah Palin

What a stupid man you must be. Either that or you’ve been bought and paid for.

Hey, McLame, suppressing the free press means sending in troops to shut down newspapers, radio stations, and television stations. Dressing down the media for sloppy, inaccurate, or downright deceptive reporting is NOT suppressing the free press.

Oh, and thank you for your service to our country. You can stop now.

McCain is a true Useful Idiot and as long as he kisses their azz and in return gets good press, he will continue to be used by them. What a POS.

McCain: Dictators 'get started by suppressing free press'

And AZZHOLES get started by spouting BS and thinking they are relevant. What a MORON.

Freedom to report the truth is one thing. Creating lies out of whole cloth is fiction.

McCain got his picture and hagiographic coverage in a liberal magazine. Mission accomplished. He’s admired - but only temporarily - by the left not for being a war hero but for throwing an election to obama. And his heroism ended when his chute landed in NVN. After that, it appears that he had to be babysat by cellmates who were genuine heroes before and during captivity. If the truth be known, his own admitted cooperation with NVN would be the real reason the left considers him a hero, despite the fact they secretly considered him a baby killer before being shot down.

McCain is a Democrat in an R jersey.
His McCain/Feingold bill did more to suppress free speech than anything Trump has done.

The bottom line:
The Uniparty wants to take Trump down to keep the borders open and the laws unenforced.

I posted pretty much the following in another McCain thread yesterday. He’s a bitter old man who’ll spend the next 4 years criticizing every thing Trump does that doesn’t fit McCain’s globalist agenda.

This clown never saw a country he didn’t want to invade.

I couldn’t care less how much time he spent in a North Vietnamese prison camp. Sending America’s sons and daughters to spill their blood so that others will fill up your pockets with cash in order for you to continue in a position where you can peddle influence is inexcuseable. This Quisling is Hillary Clinton with a better wardrobe.

I’d love to see AG Sessions send his former colleague a letter with copy of the Logan Act, notifying him that his passport has been revoked and that the FBI will be meeting him on the tarmac.

With Soros and the House of Saud as his puppet masters - the most accurate name I can give him is simply - Domestic Enemy.

Does anyone doubt that Trump could get a “recall McCain” movement going full-steam with just a few well-timed rallies in Arizona? It’s well past time for this traitorous attention-whore to get what’s coming to him.
