Social Democrat (SPD) leader Martin Schulz could be facing a possible scandal as details have emerged regarding unusual contracts he made for friends when European Union President. The allegations of potential misconduct by the former European Union president revolve mostly around a man named Markus Engels, a long-time confidant of Schulz and his current campaign manager for the German federal elections later this year.

According to reports, Schulz gave Engels a lavish contract in 2012 to represent Schulz interests in Berlin, though he was registered in Brussels — allowing him to avoid large amounts of tax, Der Spiegel reports.

I’m really hoping that it is Merkel who is behind the calls for an investigation of the demonic gremlin known as Schultz. It would be fabulous if Merkel upsets him, and he decides to dish the dirt on her!
Just imagine the scene, if these two megalomaniacs locked horns in a bitter battle of one-upmanship, and EVERY single crooked deal they’ve ever done becomes public knowledge.
It would mean that we no longer have to wait for the German people to vote Merkel out of Office, or for Schultz to crash and burn.
We could simply sit back and watch them kill each other. Literally!

And there it is. Yesterday Merkel was saying how she wants MORE refugees and I opined that this means she knows she is going to win so no more pandering required. But how, when the polls were so bad? And today, the answer.

Schulz, the EU Parliament speaker, is now the man leading the SPD and has been riding high in the polls lately.

Its time for a scandal to be leaked to the media to drive his numbers down.

SPD and CDU (Merkel’s party) are the leading parties and chances are either one of them will lead the new government after the elections are held later this year unless there is dramatic change between now and then.

If you line up a bunch of working-class Germans and lay out the options...most just sit there and laugh.

They actually will have around six parties or candidates to vote for in September.

Most are prepared to see Merkel go (probably two-thirds). No scandals with her entire period...just the immigration crisis.

So you turn to the traditional number two party (the SPD). This Schulz guy is pro-migrant/immigrant and pro-EU to the extreme. With Schulz, you are simply getting Merkel-lite.

Then you turn to the Green Party and their guy Cem Ozdemir...pro-immigration theme. The party has critized the German cops over the past few months and gotten negative attention.

Then you turn to the Linke Party (the former Communists). Their theme is pro-immigration. In three or four of the former East German states, they might get near 25-percent of the vote....but in the west...usually less than 5-percent.

The FDP Party? No one can even remember their candidate’s name.

Then you turn to the AfD Party (the anti-immigration party). They don’t have a large assortment of competent political folks, and it’s mostly a one-topic election that they are running (not a good sign).

This is why Merkel remains a strong possibility of winning.
