For decades the two-state solution has been repeatedly floated as the preferred goal of peace between Israel and the Arabs (Palestinians). Yet it has never been realized. Accusations have been tossed around by various voices laying blame on both sides for the failure of the two-state solution to be implemented.
In light of the recent summit between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump, it would appear the longstanding positon of the U.S. supporting the two-state solution is fizzling out. In my opinion, this is long overdue.
Simply put, the so-called Palestinians dont deserve a state.
The concept of a two-state solution has already been attempted with the 1947 UN partition of two states, one Arab, one Jewish. It failed. Why? The Arab nations rejected and ignored the resolution, attacking the fledgling Jewish state one day after it declared independence in 1948. Six decades and seven wars later (three with Hamas) what has changed?
A dramatic shift took place in 1967, when Yasser Arafat decided the Arabs who were displaced from the 1948 and 1967 wars deserved to have their own unique identity. So he renamed them Palestinians. For the record, before 1967 the term Palestinians referred to Jews. Walid Shoebat, an Arab who was living in Jericho during the 67 war, said On June 4 I went to sleep as an Arab. The next day, without moving anywhere I am suddenly called a Palestinian.
Arafats campaign included more than just an identity change for these newly renamed Palestinians. He demanded an independent state, and laid claim to the entire area west of the Jordan River which Israel captured during the 1967 war. As far as Arafat was concerned all this land was Palestinian land.

They deserve to lie in state.
Another example of using word choice for indoctrination.
1946 they were either Syrians and Jordanians!
Why would we do ANYTHING the Palestinians want?
Muzzies are incapable of self-government. To the extent a Palestine could be an actual country, it would rely on UN funding, which in turn would go toward terror.
No thanks.
WE have already “rewarded” these muslim terrorists far too much.
Past residents have always “rewarded” them in advance for making phony agreements that they never keep.
Then the Secretary of State and the President celebrate their empty accomplishment while nothing changes with the Palestinians - they just keep on killing Israelis and demanding more concessions.
They basically live on handouts from the USA and other countries yet always seem to have plenty of weapons and guns.
It’s time for the USA to stop the madness and stop financing terrorists wherever they may be - in the mid-east or right here in the USA.
There cannot be a “two-state solution” until the so-called Palestinians recognize the right of Israel to exist, which they will never do. So why even talk about a two-state solution?
They should go back to Jordan.
The world doesn’t need another terrorist state; there are plenty of them already.
Would you reward a many-times repeat offender thug with what they claim to want, if they have broken agreements many times and fundamentally refuse to even recognize the other party? That would be like giving a free house and luxury car to a member of MS-13, even after they refuse to stop holding up bodegas, killing people, and stealing cars and refuse to admit that other people have a right to own bodegas without fear of robbery, own nice cars without fear of carjacking, and have a right to walk down the street and not be stabbed.
There is no Palestinian language
There is no Palestinian history
There are no Palestinian artifacts
You cannot find one Palestinian archeological dig.
There is no Palestinian language
There is no such thing as Palestinian blood.
There is nothing unique about so called Palestinians as there is no such thing in history before 1967 and the co-opting of a term of a term to obfuscate displaced families of Arabs originally and largely from Syria and Jordan.
There can be no Palestine state as there is no such thing as a Palestinian.
The Palestinians want their own state because it would make it easier for them to go to war against Israel.
No one “deserves” a state. This is defective, Wilsonian thinking that has led to more wars and suffering than almost any other 20th century idiocy.
And, poor Israel! Constantly bleating, “181, 242..181, 242” as if phony resolutions passed by Chinamen, Hottentots, and Mestizos could erect some type of protection around their state and bring to reality their much -desired “right to survive”.
A state, and its right to survive, is something taken, not something given. The US wanted the Dakotas, we fought bloody wars to take them, and we will kill anyone who wants to take them away.
Israel will exist, not by right but by force of arms, as long as they are willing to kill disputants, defend their borders, and address gathering threats by overwhelming pre-emptive force.
When Israel is unwilling to do this, Israel will cease to exist.
Well said.
I would add "kept"--organized, maintained, defended, administered.
The 'Palestinians' will never amount to anything more than a mob.
Fake news, fake people. These are arab no mads who settled and adopted the palestine label with support from terrorist groups to harang Isreal, period!
We should cease giving financial aid to Gaza. They are an Arab problem so let the oil rich Arabs fund them. How many Palestinians have the Arab countries taken as refugees? None because they do not want the parasites in their countries.
agreed
one man one vote
Compare this situation to the Kurds; a unique people with a unique history, culture and language. There are no UN demands for Kurdish national self-determination. No one ever wonders why not a Kurdish state.
