The media is the enemy of the American people. We must do something about it.
Yes, it mentions “the press.” It also mentions “religion.” The key here is “make no laws, prohibit, or abridge.....
The press is no more the 4th arm of government (as they have come to act) than would be “religion.” Indeed, the press has assumed that role - the role of Grand Inquisitor and Decider, somehow magically entitled to ask, think and speak for “the people.” [Remember when the USSC ruling about campaign financing and that corporations had the same rights as individuals regarding campaign contributions? That was an interpretation of 1A that put corporations on equal footing with individuals AND the press. So, are corporations now sacrosanct?
The truth is the press was not appointed this role; it was not elected to speak for the people in this role. Contrarily, our President Trump WAS elected and he was there in the press conference fulfilling that role speaking and acting on OUR behalf accordingly.
So, because Trump didn’t bend and kiss the Papal Ring of the Press, he STILL wasn’t enacting laws, suppressing, or abridging them. He was telling them the truth we’d all like to tell them if they’d ever listen to us (fat chance for that.)
We do that by not watching them, by not reading their screed in the rags they put out, and by denigrating them whenever possible.
The Fourth Estate is the Fifth Column.

Same here. I knew that I screwed that up. What I was trying to say was that when Trump starts demanding that all ABC/NBC/CCN/etc. stories about him get approved by the White House first - then we’ll start to complain. I certainly agree that Trump, like Obama, and all other presidents has the right to control what is sent to the media, from his own Administration.
You do realize that what you said is the same thing as saying ‘we need to repeal the 2nd amendment because some people are committing crimes with guns’, right?
The first amendment protects our right to speak out against our govt. and without it, America ceases to be a free nation.
The best way to fight against an out of control, lying media is to use the truth against their lies. that is what is happening now. That is one of the main reasons Trump was elected president. He spoke the truth and people responded to it. People are sick of being lied to by the media and politicians like Hillary.
You fight fire with water and you fight lies with the truth. The truth carries much more power than lies. Lies only last until the truth comes out and disproves them but the truth lasts forever.
How do you NOT already know all of this?
Brandeis said the remedy for bad speech is more speech. I don’t know how much more speech we can stand. Notice that nobody on the left says that the remedy for bad guns is more guns.
To hell with what the lying left says. The truth of that matter is 'more guns, less crime'. Notice that the solution to bad guys with guns is always good guys with guns.
Speech you don't like is always going to be countered by speech you do like. That is what is at the heart of all politics. Hashing things out with speech instead of just bringing war and fighting to the death. It's really why politics were invented in the first place.
The leftist media are destroying themselves with their lies and partisan deceit. Enjoy watching the results of their mendacity. Embrace the truth and enjoy the winning!
