It's A Bloodbath At The State Department

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is cleaning house at the State Department, according to a report.

Staffers in the offices of deputy secretary of state for management and resources as well as counselor were shown the door Thursday, according to CBS News.

Many of those let go were on the building’s seventh floor — top-floor bigs — a symbolically important sign to the rest of the diplomatic corps that their new boss has different priorities than the last one.

This week’s round of firings marks the second time State Department personnel have been cleared out since President Trump took office last month.

Hear that hollow, gurgling sound? That’s the sound of the swamp being drained.

There is a lot of value in greatly increasing the ranks of government employees who are no longer have a job in D.C. Takes us closer to recovering our Free Constitutional Republic.

The way-out-of-control pension deal also needs to get fixed but you can start with the one and then follow up with the other.

The good news is that these SOBs are no longer in power.
The BAD NEWS is that obozo has every damn one of them out in the country organizing their minions to DESTROY TRUMP!!

TRUMP VS THE APPARATCHIKS
During the Nixon Administration, arch conservative, presidential candidate and founder of the Conservative Caucus Howard Phillips headed two federal agencies, ending his executive branch career as director of the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) for five months in 1973, a position from which he resigned when Nixon reneged on his commitment to veto further funding for Great Society programs begun in the Johnson Administration.

Nixon’s appointment of Phillips as Director of OEO in January 1973 touched off a national controversy culminating in a court case in the US District Court in The District of Columbia (Williams v. Phillips, 482 F.2d 669) challenging the legality of Phillips’ appointment.
(The above two paragraphs from Wikipedia don’t tell the full story.)

Phillips went to the OEO with the intention of DISMANTLING at least that much of Johnson’s Great Society socialist agenda. That MAY have been why Nixon put the outspoken conservative in the slot as a feeler for how far he might go toward paring down the bureaucracy Johnson had ballooned to new and higher levels. We will never know. The bureaucrats at OEO knew what Howard was up to when this conservative firebrand was appointed and filed the lawsuit referenced above. Not content to wait for the court to render a decision, a delegation of OEO bureaucrats made it clear to Nixon that he would have “problems” if he allowed Phillips to remain and continue to pursue his take-down of the agency.

Nixon caved and dismissed Howard, allowing him to save face by presenting his departure as a voluntary act.

Which brings us to the mess currently developing for Donald Trump!

Since the Nixon Administration the “Deep State” bureaucracy has grown in size and clout by orders of magnitude. What we are now witnessing in Washington today is just the beginning of a full-on assault on Trump’s expressed goal of CUTTING THE BUREAUCRACY with the Beltway apparatchiks in full cry and fury in their efforts to frustrate his plan. That they are putting that effort AHEAD of the security of the nation seems to be of no concern to most of them.

Let me wrap this by reminding you that the PRIME DIRECTIVE of nearly every bureaucracy in history has been to expand its SIZE and POWER. Because most of them are not merit based, the way to move up is to continue to load the bottom with new people. That’s the size component. And the power part will be completely understood by anyone who has had an “experience” with the EPA, DOE, IRS, etc.

President Trump and those of us who support him are in for the ride of our lives. And HE is probably already asking himself “What in the hell is wrong with me? Why did I DO this?”

He did this because he loves this country and was deeply concerned with our direction.

We out here in “Flyover Country” should be equally concerned that his sentiment is not shared by the entrenched apparatchiks in the “Deep State”.

Buckle up. And President Trump – keep that flak jacket handy!

If you take out the appointees and those in the SES, the remaining employees at the management and worker level will fall into line because they’d rather run over Grandma than lose the job.

These career government employees don’t know what it’s like to be able to just lose your gig at a moment’s notice. It’s high time they did.

I imagine the media will be plucking the cards from their Rolodexes. Although, they never needed those contacts as the State Dept called the reporters to spread whatever BS they chose.

Ross, I believe you're standing too close to Shep Smith!

In addition to being a talented urinalist, Shep's also a very skilled musician. He regularly solos on the B flat Hawaiian Meat Whistle and the 5 finger Bonaphone! That probably explains his purty mouth.

thousands upon thousands of unemployed government workers

You WOULD say this if you understood that the greatest threat to our Free Constitutional Republic and the #1 political problem in America is the 70% to 80% unconstitutional portion of the $4 trillion federal government. Getting the federal government back to being actually constitutional would mean exactly what SpaceBar posted: hundreds of thousands of officials, bureaucratic heads, and government workers sent home packing with no job.

Don't cry too many tears. Our economic engine would soon be so revved up that these folks' problem would be choosing which job opening they should take.

Also, most if not all of them are probably covered by some kind of insane government pension so we pay them 'till Moses no matter what they do. That's bad and needs fixing. But having them gone from D.C. is probably the best thing that could happen to America politically and economically.

I assume their network accounts, email, HD backups, badge codes and paper files were all locked from them first, and that MPs monitored their leaving.

There will be so many ex-fed talking heads for the Enemedia to have as guests now. It will be a cacophony for a long time, until the little rats start getting arrested, and dropping dime on the bigger Rats.

“Jobs for life?”

Here’s a good primer.
https://www.mspb.gov/netsearch/viewdocs.aspx?docnumber=1166935&version=1171499&application=ACROBAT

Much like union jobs once they pass their probationary period, but that’s just for lower GS classifications.
Senior Executive Service, if they think they can sue for wrongful termination, they will. But they won’t.

These guys socialize in the break room and off hours. For someone to show some common sense (”Why is Dear Leader Hillary setting the Levant and north Africa on fire?!”) that would be like ripping a huge fart in a small room, going off the reservation and there would be social penalties followed by discipline, etc.
They have been socialized to the point that they can’t see that their heads are firmly wedged into ball jars.
Especially the `policy makers’ who don’t have the civil service protections of their minions.
Flush them out of there.
