The workers at that plant had a vote this week over whether or not to unionize. I heard the motion was voted down resoundingly.

Boom!

Boeing only builds the 787 there. I don’t think there is any engineering and certainly no corporate there. Why go there? Wouldn’t he go to Chicago (global corporate) or Seattle (Commercial Airplanes corporate) to “talk to Boeing”?

Chicago? Seriously? If he just wants to talk to corporate ‘suits’, fine.

If he wants to talk to workers in a Right-to-Work state, South Carolina.

If he want to put up with the drama queens of “Occupy”, etc, then, by all means, go to Seattle.

Choose your battles wisely. No need to start a Second Front until the brush fires are put out elsewhere.

He is talking to the workers, the blue collar folks that got him elected.

Trump can talk to the CEO of Boeing at any time, by picking up the phone and having the puppy come into the Oval Office.

As a Washingtonian, Boeing has been an ubiquitous part of our state economy since I was born.

Every few years, the Machinist’s Union would strike, and the news would be dominated by the sad sob stories of these ridiculous union members trying to tell the rest of us how bad they have it, and how we owe it to them to support them cuz “thank unions for paid holidays,” and “thank unions for the 40 hour work week.”

Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth when Boeing opened a new factory in South Carolina, and how the union prognosticated that work done at the new facility by the scabs would be inferior and shoddy.

What sort of idiot couldn’t see the writing on the wall? Boeing already moved their HQ to Chicago. They only kept any production at all in WA because our state government compliantly dropped to their knees and bowed before Boeing when they dropped hints they were pulling up stakes.

What we are seeing here is the beginning of the end for the Aerospace industry in Washington. I have zero doubt that Boeing will move entirely to states with a workforce that is disinclined to unionize.

A parasite is only successful insofar as it doesn’t kill its host. The Machinist Union parasite has done just that. Buh-bye.
