The controversy surrounding one of President Donald Trump's most contentious cabinet picks just got an extra boost.
In a political cartoon published in the Belleville News-Democrat on Monday, conservative artist Glenn McCoy recreated Norman Rockwell's iconic painting "The Problem We All Live With" - with education secretary Betsy DeVos at the center instead of civil rights activist Ruby Bridges. The image was quick to go viral, with many expressing their outrage over the suggested parallels, including Chelsea Clinton.

As many have since pointed out, the cartoon seems to imply that what Bridges experienced as the first black child to attend a segregated, all-white school in New Orleans in 1960 is somehow comparable to what DeVos is experiencing now as an unpopular education secretary. In particular, The Huffington Post suggests that the cartoon was likely meant to be in reference to DeVos being blocked from entering a D.C. public school last week after protestors refused to let her by. (She was eventually able to get in.)
Soon after it made the rounds on the internet, many took to social media to add to the conversation and further explain why the cartoon and its comparisons were so offensive.

Sooner or later, the media will figure out that when they label something “offensive” to liberals, we’re not hanging our heads in shame, but thinking up similar ways to piss them off.
Don’t these cartoonists know that only liberals own the victim industry? The nerve of these hacks! Implying that a privileged white woman could ever have experienced any adversity in her life!

People are outraged. Right, people. And, right, at a cartoon. Yes, a cartoon. Again.
People are outraged that our Education Secretary was blocked from entering a school. By teachers.
The truth is always offensive to the sniveling lying liberals. Let it sink into the skulls of the Clinton/Obama crime families.
What is OFFENSIVE is the thinking of some on the Left who say they are “offended”. The simple answer to them and others in similar cases is: YOU DON’T OWN THIS.

“Progressives” have ruled this nation for decades by having a near monopoly on the flow of information and ideas.
That monopoly has been broken. It was the major source of their power. They are having a hard time understanding that.

I’m not old enough (barely) to remember Ruby Bridges. But I’ve heard repeatedly that microagressions today are worse than racism before I was born.
I guess I should assume Ruby needed protection to avoid being offended (rightly or wrongly) by things she heard. And those things weren’t as bad that the things blacks hear today /sarc
