It’s been so long since I’ve been to DC. Can’t be more than 8 hours from NYC.
I’d stay at a hotel far from town though so the traffic doesn’t kill you and then take public transport to the rally.
The rooms are NOT that expensive.

Like I said, what do you do 24 hours later after you spent hundreds of dollars to spend a day in DC?
You know what will help more? You go to the office of your rep, you contact your senator, you show up in large numbers to counter protest the rallies the left has in your town, You participate in massive numbers on websites where the left controls the discussion far too often.
Even flood the White House with letters (not emails) of support. The optics of the oval office full of physical letters from around the nation is far more effective.
Go to DC if you feel compelled, but realize that is not the magical end all.
