Melania Trump is secretly miserable as first lady, a new report claims.
Private, self-conscious, and smarting from some harsh, even mocking press, Melania is “struggling with the realities of her new role and the scrutiny that comes with it,” US Weekly says in its Feb. 27 cover story, citing family sources.
“This life wasn’t her dream. It was Donald’s,” a Trump family friend, stylist Phillip Bloch, told the magazine.
“Truthfully, it’s a lot to cope with.”
Since Inauguration Day, Melania has spent almost all her time hiding inside the “gilded cage” of the family’s lavish, $100 million Trump Tower penthouse on Fifth Avenue — where treasured son Barron, 10, has a whole floor to himself.

The first lady has lots of rules and duties. But she gets few benefits. Especially a first lady like Melania, who does not need the pomp. Possibly she may like the days with other first ladies. But she is not fond of losing her ability to walk the streets of New York. And she must really hate that her son is mixed up in all this at such a young age.
She entertains both the Japanese and the Israelis just fine.
I always got the idea that she is happy with her current [pre-WH] lifestyle. It’s got to be brutal ... especially for someone like Melania who, by all accounts, is very private.
All of a sudden you are called a prostitute by Carl Bernstein’s son [just read last night] ... “by mistake”, yeah, sure. The other side has sunk to new depths.
next month she’ll be on the cover of a checkout mag becoming anorexic and filing for divorce to marry Alex Baldwin.

She cooked breakfast and took Baron to school everyday, made his lunch every day and picked him up from school. He never had a nanny, just an occasional baby sitter.
At home and while Baron was in school, Melania worked on her own projects.
Presidential wives are pretty subdued and support their husbands which is what she does.
Michelle was the "noisy" exception who saw her role as being a rock star....disgusting rep.
She’s going to need a sense of proportion and a sense of humor to navigate this. She’s in Washington now, and it’s a well known ship of fools.
I hope she realizes that there are a whole lot us out here who are so grateful we finally have class, big time, in the WH now.

If this is true, she’s the much hotter reincarnation of Bess Truman, who really didn’t like attention and mostly abandoned Harry’s White House in favor of their little home in Missouri.
